Emergency Response Assistant - CASH


Overall purpose of the role:

  • Provides field-level support for implementing Multi-Purpose Cash Assistant (MPCA) distribution activities.
  • Assist the emergency cash officer in ensuring quality implementing, planning, coordination with stakeholders and (MPCA) lists reconciliation of distribution activities on field level.

Responsibilities: (in bullet points)

  • Carry out basic tasks within emergency response area (e.g. in-kind distribution, data collection, registration/assessment and data entry).
  • Reconciliation of beneficiaries list in terms of Registered Vs. Distributed Vs Received as per required.
  • Distribution of CASH as per required.
  • Participate in assessments & registration process.
  • Coordinate with other parties (including Financial Service Providers FSP) on field level.
  • Follow given work plans and guidelines.
  • Representing DRC among targeted communities the best possible way and according to DRC’s guidelines/code of conduct.
  • Daily/Weekly verbal and written reports.
  • Any other duties as assigned by team leader and/or distribution officer.

Experience and technical competencies:

  • One year of relevant work experience is preferred, previous working in cash distribution is an asset.
  • Basic knowledge in MS office (Excel & word).
  • Good accounting skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, especially with FSPs, beneficiaries & community leaders.
  • Excellent organizing and coordination skills.
  • English knowledge is an asset.
Fluency in local language.


  • High school degree or diploma at relevant sector.


  • Arabic Language with fluency at local accent.
  • Basic English is an asset.

  • Local authorities.
  • Community leaders/representatives.
  • DRC Teams.
  • Field level humanitarian employees.

The proposed employment conditions are based on DRC policy and Yemeni labor law. The selected candidate shall perform his/her duties in compliance with the DRC Code of Conduct and procedures at all times
