STANDARD MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Completion of secondary school education and a post-secondary certificate in the related functional area such as computer science, media or social science or any discipline related to information management. Courses in public nutrition, nutrition and food security, maternal child nutrition and health, public health, medicine or any other related field to nutrition will be considered an advantage.
- At least five (5) years of experience in information management including minimum two years working within humanitarian operations
- Proven statistical analytical skills and experience of mapping and data visualization
- Proven experience of leading nutrition program information management and facilitation with concerned authorities
- Proven experience in synthesizing relevant information and developing reports on time against set deadlines for the dissemination of key findings to technical and non-technical audiences.
Language: Fluency (level C) in both spoken and written English & Arabic languages
Nationality: The applicant should be either a Yemeni national or have a valid Yemeni residence/work permit at the time of application
Under the supervision of the Head of Nutrition the incumbent will be responsible for technical work including the planning, implementation and co-ordination of activities that require thorough understanding of programme/Nutrion context, issues and ability to apply a range of guidelines/practices. They independently handle a wide range of specialized programme or policy support activities and may be involved in analytical work. Work performed typically has a substantial impact affecting other parts of the programme. Job holders demonstrate initiative in the identification and resolution of a wide range of issues/problems, and effectively handle unforeseen situations. They may act as technical focal points in the area of vulnerability assessment and analysis. Job holders set objectives, resolve wide-ranging issues and unforeseen problems, supervise and coach a team of support staff within an area of responsibility.
To provide effective coordination and specialized support to a full range of policy and programme activities that effectively meet food assistance needs.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (not all-inclusive)
- Provide technical support and assist in the development and implementation of nutrition information systems and monitoring processes as per approved project documents.
- Provide specialized project management support to nutrition programs to ensure that the various activities are performed within the established targets following WFP’s policies and procedures and or agreed country level/ cluster targets
- Responsible for preparing monthly/quarterly reports and data analysis (e.g. nutrition assistance, resource utilization, program status, performance) and highlight trends/issues ensuring deliverables adhere to corporate and international standards and quality control.
- Focal point for timely recording of cooperating partner distribution reports and related data entry into the corporate system
- Provide effective and timely technical support to field-based staff, partners and MoPHP on how to collect and analyze nutrition information (including training and mentoring)
- Liaise with internal counterparts to support effective collaboration, implementation and monitoring of ongoing project activities.
- Act as a point of contact for resolution of a range of operational queries and problems within a specific technical area of responsibility.
- Follow standard emergency preparedness practices to ensure WFP is able to quickly respond and deploy needed resources to affected areas at the onset of the crisis.
