Seoul, Republic of Korea: Senior Budget Associate

The position is responsible to ensure formulation and presentation of budgets are in compliance with the developed budgeting systems i.e. people planner, budget planner and that the implementation of the approved/revised budgets are in accordance to the established budget control policies that is aligned with GGGI’s strategy.

PURPOSE

  • Manage an effective, transparent and flexible budgeting and forecasting system that is aligned with GGGI’s strategy.
  • Ensure GGGI’s budget control policies and procedures are aligned and supports the implementation of one GGGI strategy.
  • Provide a comprehensive, complete and reliable financial analysis through the development of a structured financial information systems.

 

ENGAGEMENT

  • Establish and promote the use of the budget monitoring and reporting systems and empower the Programs Managers to manage budget variations effectively and efficiently. 
  • Actively engage in developments of the budget systems i.e. charge-out rates, timesheet, people planner and budget planner, and ensure to be fully compliant.
  • Provide a timely, detailed reports and constructive analysis to program managers, heads of unit/department and divisions on budget variations.
  • Through close coordination with the Budget Analyst, perform analytical review of staff budget and charge out rates

 

DELIVERY

 

  • Develops budget preparation, monitoring and reporting tools that enables an effective management and implementation of people planner, budget planner and timesheet and that variations are handled efficiently.
  • Implement the budget control policies, regularly review the effectiveness of these policies against GGGI’s strategy and recommend changes by benchmarking against practices of other similar sized and comparable organization.
  • Lead the development of charge-out rates and conduct constructive analysis to assist and advise in management’s decision making.
  • Lead the dissemination of all the related periodic and ad-hoc reports to Project Managers, Line Managers, Head of Finance, CFO and/or Management Team as required.

 

REQUIREMENTS

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration or in any relevant field is required.
  • Experience in budget area more than 5 years will be preferred
  • Strong analytical and database/excel  skills is an essential
  • Strong communication (English) skills – written and oral

  • Proficiency in communicating with the management and staff of the company
  • Ability to undertake multiple tasks at the same time without losing focus
  • Must be proactive, with the ability to meet and surpass project deadlines
  • Possess exceptional analytical reasoning skills to think problems thoroughly and generate solutions
  • Work with minimal daily direction and supervision
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail

 

CORPORATE

  • Able to work on a cross-cultural environment with a multi-national staff
  • Can demonstrate the core values of the GGGI in day-to-day actions
