PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

Finance Assistant will work under the direct supervision of Technical Officer (EPI) and assist WCO EPI team in supporting Central Expanded Program on Immunization (cEPI), Department of Public Health, Ministry of Health and Sports (MoHS) in strengthening Vaccine Preventable Disease surveillance and Immunization activities. The team lead in consultation with Administrative Officer guides on non-routine matters and ensures on-going support through on-job training and technical or administrative guidance as relevant. Routine tasks are performed independently within detailed guidelines. Overall supervision is focused on the successful delivery of client oriented and efficient implementation of operational services.


DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES

The Finance Assistant will work under the direct supervision of Technical Officer (EPI), WHO and will be responsible for the following tasks\:

  • Assist in proper recording and keeping  filing system for financial records of central Expended Programme on Immunization, Department of Public Health.

  • Assist in collecting DFC reports with supporting documents from all levels.

  • Checking and verifying all payment forms, vouchers, invoices and supporting documents, from accuracy, completions as per DFCs/APW/TSA and DI.

  • Keep monitoring sheet of activities date, amount, situation of liquidation and un-liquidated amount.

  • Ensure that the bank drafts, bank statements and other financial documents in order and follow up with bank if necessary.

  • Assist in checking quarterly DFC reports and their supporting documents sent from all levels and preparation of the report from cEPI to WHO.

  • Performs any other relevant duties and ad hoc activities which are assigned by WHO.

  • Prepare estimate budget breakdown of the activity

  • To submit assignment report quarterly

                 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

 

Education

 

Essential\: Any University degree

  

Desirable\: bookkeeping or accounting training    

 

   

Experience\:


  • Office software (word, Excel, Outlook etc).
  • Three years relevant experience in financial field at  UN and related organization 

  • Monitoring financial expenditure and good communication skill explaining financial matters.

  • Basic bookkeeping and accounting

 Use of language skills

  • Good knowledge of English and excellent knowledge of Myanmar Language.
