Background:
In 2014, 37 million people were living with HIV, 2 million people were newly infected with HIV and 1.2 million died of AIDS-related causes. The intrinsic connections between HIV and SRH are wellestablished, and have numerous benefits, especially as HIV is predominantly sexually transmitted or associated with pregnancy, childbirth and breastfeeding. Sexual and reproductive ill-health and
HIV also share root causes, including poverty, gender inequality, and social marginalization of vulnerable groups. Linkages between SRHR and HIV are expected to improve health outcomes by improving access to and uptake of services, reducing stigma and discrimination, streamlining services and reducing duplication of efforts, increasing the efficient utilization of human resources, and increasing cost-effectiveness. Thus, Linking HIV and SRHR responses is critical for reaching human rights, gender equality, and health targets for the Sustainable Development Goals.

UNFPA works with 25 organizations to:

• advocate for political commitment to a linked SRHR and HIV agenda;
• support national action to strengthen SRHR and HIV linkages at the policy, systems and service
• delivery levels; and
• create a shared understanding of SRHR and HIV linkages by building the evidence base and sharing research, good practice and lessons learnt.

Qualification and Experience:

• Master degree or equivalent in Public Health, social sciences, or related field.
• A first-level university degree (Bachelor’s degree or equivalent) in combination with qualifying experience (at least 3 years of relevant working experience) may be accepted in lieu of of an advanced university degree
• Part of the candidates' academic training must have taken place in a developing country that appears on the following list of eligible countries of the Dutch JPO Programme:

• Two to a maximum of 4 years relevant working experience in international development and global public health. Prior experience in developing countries is an asset
• All paid work experience since obtaining Bachelors degree will/can be considered.
• Fluency in English. Knowledge of other working languages of the UN is an asset
