The goal of the five years’ partnership between the Government of the Republic of Croatia and UNICEF is to increase the quality of life for the most vulnerable children in Croatia. How can you make a difference?

In order to develop new income opportunities, the CO wants to strengthen the corporate partnership activities through development and implementation of the corporate fundraising strategy specific to the local market. The fundamental mission of this post is to position UNICEF as a partner of choice within corporate sector and create multifaceted corporate partnerships that would bring relevant income and make significant impact on children in Croatia and elsewhere.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES and DUTIES & TASKS 

  1. Develops and implements a corporate fundraising strategy to engage with and raise significant funds from the corporate sector
  • Develops and implements a corporate fundraising strategy that is aligned with UNICEF best practices globally and is following UNICEF rules and regulations.
  • Develops and incorporates various forms of collaborations with corporates
  1. Identifies and researches potential partners, keeps up to date records on activities
  • Identifies and researches corporate partners that have good brand fit with UNICEF and comply within UNICEF criteria for engaging with corporate sector
  • Identifies optimal fundraising mechanisms for different industries or prospective partners to establish longer-term and higher-value collaborations and corporate partnerships.
  1. Develops relationships and networks that engage companies as partners for child rights, provides effective account management
  • Liaises with Partnerships section for capacity building in the Child Rights Business (CRB) area.
  1. Develops funding/partnerships proposals, reports, presentations and other relevant materials
  • Influences decision makers within corporates sector and negotiates corporate partnerships and collaborations that are bringing significant impact
  • Provides high quality account management to existing corporate partners to secure multi-year partnerships and collaborations.
  1. Manages screening of companies.
  • Conducts screening for prospective UNICEF partners
  • Proposes adequate activities based on the industry and UNICEF best practices.

 

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…

  • An advanced university degree (Master’s) preferably in humanities and social sciences combined with a minimum of one year of relevant professional work experience in sales, customer management, fundraising or another relevant field, is required.
    *A first University Degree (Bachelor's) in a relevant field, combined with three years of professional experience may be accepted in lieu of an Advanced University Degree.
  • Relevant marketing or communication experience will be considered as contributing to this work experience
  • Fluency in English and Croatian, written and spoken, is required. Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish) or a local language is an asset.
  • Excellent computer skills in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.) including internet navigation is required
  • Developing country work experience and/or familiarity with emergency is considered an asset
  • Relevant experience in a UN system agency or organization is considered as an asset
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a multi-cultural environment is considered as an asset
  • Initiative, passion and commitment to UNICEF’s mission and professional values is highly desirable.
