 Overview

The Middle East Regional Office based in Amman, Jordan was created in January 2014 as part of NRC’s reorganization process.  We currently have more than 3,000 staff in the Middle East region assisting people displaced by conflict in Syria, Libya Iraq, Lebanon, Jordan and Palestine.  Our work is concentrated on the shelter, education, food security, legal assistance and water, sanitation and hygiene sectors with strong protection and resilience focus integrated into our programs.

NRC operations is in the Middle East have grown significantly in recent years and further growth is expected in the months to come. Role Specific/Purpose:

The purpose of the ICT Assistant’s role is to improve the ways in which information technology supports NRC’s work. The Tech Officer is responsible for supporting cloud systems, contributing to the development and implementation of services and making sure that the lessons learnt are captured and shared.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

We are seeking a motivated professional to join our ICT team in the Middle East Regional Office. The ideal candidate will have a minimum 1-2 years relevant ICT work experience in a humanitarian/recovery context.

B.A degree in Computing, technical diploma or any other related field, Fluency in English, both verbal and written is required.

Additional useful skills include: teamwork skills, good communication and interpersonal skills.


Key Job Tasks and Responsibilities:

  1. Provide level one incident handling support to Amman based staff in SRO/MERO building.
  2. Maintain and administer the hardware and software of NRC ICT assets.
  3. Support the training and capacity development of NRC staff in use of ICT assets and systems.
  4. Manage the ICT asset inventory and provide updates as needed to NRC logistics and staff.
  5. Maintain service contracts for phone networks, and asset registers for communications equipment, in coordination with the Logistics team.
  6. Manage connectivity and print server issues in an effort to maintain office core services at all times.
  7. Purchase and dispose of ICT assets in collaboration with logistics staff
  8. Keep computer software up to date including core information security minimums such as: anti-virus, windows updates, and patch other known vulnerabilities.
  1. Assist in roll out of new software to all Amman computers;
  2. Manage tickets assigned by ICT ops staff in a timely and efficient manner;
