The objective of this function is to enable the education section of the UNICEF Tunisia country office to meet its partnership management, and reporting obligations to produce quality level donor reports, quality donor proposals, briefing materials, human interest stories, as well as other information products as required in addition to effective day-to-day relationship management with donor partners in the domain of education as per the agreements signed. The purpose of the position is also reinforcing education section capacity for information and knowledge management.

How can you make a difference?

The objective of this function is to enable the education section of the UNICEF Tunisia country office to meet its partnership management, and reporting obligations to produce quality level donor reports, quality donor proposals, briefing materials, human interest stories, as well as other information products as required in addition to effective day-to-day relationship management with donor partners in the domain of education as per the agreements signed. The purpose of the position is also reinforcing education section capacity for information and knowledge management.

Summary of key functions/accountabilities:

  1. Update and mainstream information on all donors proposals and donor reporting requirements. Ensure the Chief of Education and Program Specialists/Officers are updated on these requirements and follow-up as required. This includes preparing a monitoring reporting schedule/calendar for donor reporting and provide updates
  2. Ensure timely and accurate preparation of donors reports. This includes the gathering of information from the Program colleagues, consolidation, editing and production of interim and final reports as well preparing these reports for management review/clearance as per country office standard operating procedures.
  3. Develops and maintains deep knowledge and familiarity with current and prospective partners and relevant stakeholders, contributing to a database of key contacts and to UNICEFs base of knowledge on partnership and resource mobilization. Expands UNICEF's network of key interlocutors to build stronger relationships between UNICEF and governments, other key-decision makers, regional development institutions, foundations, the private sector, international financial institutions and/or relevant constituencies.
  4. Under the guidance/supervision of the Education Section Chief (in collaboration with the Deputy Representative and Representative), develop and prepare fundraising/donor proposals on Education for UNICEF Tunisia country office in line with overall fundraising strategy. This includes coordination with program colleagues, gathering, compiling and consolidating information as well as writing/editing proposals and preparing proposals for management review/clearance as per country office standard operating procedures.
  5. As a focal point, support the Education Section in identification and pursuit of opportunities for outreach, engagement, policy influence and collaboration, including on how to anticipate and respond to partners concerns and priorities, ensure that UNICEF’s interests, perspectives, and knowledge are taken into account in relevant policy and institutional processes, and ensure that they are fully aware of UNICEF's perspectives, policies, priorities and capabilities. Contribute to the development and management of initiatives for high-level outreach, including for UNICEF's Senior Management.
  6. Support the Education section to prepare and consolidate their contribution to the country office annual report.
  7. Write, produce and edit human interest stories for dissemination including for donor reporting requirements as well as social or web based media
  8. Prepare briefing notes, talking points, factsheets and other briefing materials on education for the Chief of Education and/or country office management (Deputy Representative, Representative) and be responsible for their maintenance/ updating

Performs other related duties as assigned by the supervisor to ensure the success of the team.

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have¦

  • An Advanced university in international development, public affairs, international relations, political science or other related field
  • At least five (5) years of progressively responsible professional experience in external relations, liaison and/or any resource-mobilization related activities, preferably in an international organization is required
  • Fluency in French and English is required with knowledge of another UN language considered as an asset.
