CONSULTANCY TO UNDERTAKE DEVELOPMENT OF AN EXTRANET SITE FOR THE ECOLOGICAL ORGANIC AGRICULTURE (EOA) INITIATIVE IN AFRICA

Biovision Africa Trust (BvAT) wishes to recruit a consultant to undertake the development of a SharePoint

based Extranet System as an extension of the website for the Ecological Organic Agriculture Initiative in
Africa. The extranet will boost the work of Biovision Africa trust as host to the Continental Steering
Committee (CSC) Secretariat and as Executing Agency in centralizing and facilitating communication
among the CSC members and partners especially sharing of key documents like the CSC’s minutes and
documents and partner project reports. Having the communication centralized will also ensure
coordinated response from all members.The consulting firm/expert should demonstrate and provide examples of previous experience in the
performance of similar services as follows:
1) Be a reputable firm with at least 5 years of prior experience designing visually appealing and
navigation friendly web sites;
2) Familiarity and relevant experience in using different Content Management Systems (CMS),
particularly WordPress;
3) Have a broad knowledge of current web development technologies and design tools in the field, and
new software and other web programming languages and programs including use of HTML, XHTML,
CSS, XML, XSLT, Macromedia Flash, Java;
4) Have excellent knowledge of recent trends in graphic design, web sites, including online video
publishing, and social media networking;
5) Demonstrate the ability to create innovative and visually appealing design

Interested candidates should submit the following:

i. A proposal describing the previous work done in this area;
ii. A portfolio of previous work of webs with similar functionalities developed;
iii. CVs of the lead developer, graphical integrator, graphic designer and junior migration expert in charge
of this project to be included in the proposal;
iv. A financial proposal to address the work (The lump-sum fee which you propose for the consultancy
should indicate the breakdown of all costs. The fee should be inclusive of ALL considerations).
v. Names and contacts of three professional references (phone numbers and email).
vi. A one-page write-up showing why you are most suitable for undertaking the consultancy.
