The purpose of the Internship is to work with the Strategic Business Support (SBS) Team in the Division of Financial Management (DFAM), to implement and maintain strategies, systems and approaches led by the team specialists.

The purpose of the Internship is to work with the Strategic Business Support (SBS) Team in the Division of Financial Management (DFAM), to implement and maintain strategies, systems and approaches led by the team specialists.

How can you make a difference?

The key functions of the internship are to -

Enterprise Risk Management:

  • Help address emails and calls regarding the risk management component of the new eGRC system.
  • Support risk-related data entry in the eGRC.
  • Gather and analyse information/feedback from the risk management and policy management components of the eGRC.
  • Coordinate follow-up on risk structure and taxonomy feedback and refinement.
  • Coordinate follow-up on risk escalations, exceptions to procedure and other risk issues as required.
  • Contribute to Development and publishing Annual Risk Report (simple statistical analysis and comparisons, primarily and developing associated graphics/infographics)
  • Contribute to the development of ERM and Policy Management-related frameworks, policies, procedures, processes and guidelines.
  • Draft ERM-related instructions and communications.

Regulatory Framework:

  • Support the management / update of Policy and Procedures in eGRC tool.
  • Support the maintenance of Regulatory Framework Library.

Capacity Development:

  • Contribute to learning related data management, analysis and reporting.
  • Development of marketing collateral and communication pieces.

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…

  • to be enrolled in an undergraduate degree, with specialty in social sciences.
  • Knowledge and experience with data analysis, systems management, project management.
  • Knowledge and experience in an international organization, Embassy, UN system is desirable.
  • Fluency (written and verbal) in English is required.

Duration: The duration of  the internship is for six months starting in April 2019

Location: The internship will be based in the NY headquarters office in the Division of Financial and Administrative Management (DFAM).

Salary/Payment: In accordance to UNICEF's guidelines, interns will be paid a stipend of US $1,500 per month for full-time work; part-time internship will be paid accordingly. There is no expectancy of employment at the end of the internship. UNICEF is not responsible for obtaining any necessary visas.

Insurance: UNICEF will not be responsible for costs arising from accidents and/or illness incurred during the intern's service, whether on or off UNICEF premises. Therefore, the selected candidate must provide proof of enrolment in a health/accident plan prior to start his/her work with the SBS Section.
