To work with the Executive Director & International Director of Communications to implement the plan for Animal Equality’s communications in India, increasing engagement and reach throughout all social media platforms.
Primary Responsibilities and Duties:
Adapt and implement international communication/social media strategy for the Indian context.
Develop a communication and content strategy which creates momentum and raises awareness of the organization's mission, projects, and initiatives.
Maintain a cohesive strategy across all platforms to increase brand awareness, improving mission-building and brand storytelling.
Manage the development, maintenance and promotion of Animal Equality websites, as well as other communication platforms, including but not limited to newsletters, press releases, blogs, social media pages, as well as print materials such as folders and leaflets.
Coordinate webpage and social media maintenance—ensure that new and consistent information (article links, stories, and events) is posted regularly.
Research emerging social networks and features which can benefit the organization and identify trends and opportunities to reach a broader audience and encourage meaningful engagement.
Identify and reach out for collaboration with social media influencers who are aligned to organizations values, projects, and campaigns
Generate online written and visual content that engages audience, including video visual content such as videos, infographics, memes
Track and identify online behaviour changes and adapt strategy and content as needed.
Manage, track and analyze Animal Equality’s social media pages for India.
Define and analyse metrics, report and interpret data , track and measure the level of engagement within the network over time, prioritizing content that leads to measurable action.
Coordinate designers, photo and video editors on developing visual pieces, ensuring consistency and compliance with brand guidelines.
Coordinate digital/content marketing and advertising efforts through Google ads and promotion of social media posts/ads.
Assist Executive Director in public relations, media and celebrity outreach efforts promoting Animal Equality's initiatives with journalists, editors, and opinion makers.
Required Experience, Skills and Qualifications
Proficiency in spoken and written English, proficiency in Spanish is a plus.
Excellent writing/editing skills.
Minimum one year of communications experience developing and implementing communications strategies, preferably as a Social Media Analyst or similar role.
Heavy social media user with hands-on experience with social media platforms and digital/content marketing strategies.
Experience with social media management tools, knowledge of photo/video editing tools a plus.
Proven success in growing online communities, building brand awareness, engaging audiences, and driving traffic.
Knowledge of SEO, keyword research and Google Analytics.
Interest in graphic design, photography and video is a plus.
Ability to professionally advocate Animal Equality’s positions.
Highly effective organizational and interpersonal skills.
Creative in finding new ways to convey our message.
Ability to self-start and work well in a team-driven environment.
Knowledge or interest of animal rights issues.
Ability to maintain confidentiality.
