Vacancy Announcement Number

Option one:

-       Fixed-Term Appointment for 3 years (applies to internal candidates on Fixed-Term contract only); including 1 year probation period, with the possibility of further extension, subject to the availability of funds, satisfactory performance and continuing need

-       Grade 14

-       Monthly salary 779.30 USD, plus Special Occupation Allowance of basic salary.

-       Contract Status: 3 years including 1 year of probation.

-       Other benefits include Provident Fund contribution (15% of basic salary paid by the Agency), and annual leave in addition to maternity, paternity and sick leaves. Dependency allowance is subject to eligibility.

Option Two:

-       Limited Duration Contract for 1 year (applies to external candidates and internal candidates on LDC); renewable; Appointment subject to funding confirmation

-       Band "F"

-       Monthly salary 896.20 USD.

-       Other benefits include medical insurance and annual leave in addition to maternity, paternity and sick leaves. Dependency allowance is subject to eligibility.

Reports directly to the Deputy Field Technical Officer. Responsible for the technical supervision of Area Maintenance Supervisors.

Primary duties and responsibilities

••••••••••••• In accordance with established Agency policy and procedures:

(A) Implements and supervises the maintenance programme;

(B) Conducts annual technical surveys of all Agency buildings and installations with the assistance of Area Maintenance Supervisions to determine maintenance priorities and the quantities of maintenance required;

(C) Carries out contract administration duties in coordination with the Office Engineer including the preparation of bills of quantities, cost estimates for quantities and materials, specifications, tender and contract documentation, interim and final payment certificates, etc.

(D) Responsible in coordination with the Office Engineer for the preparation of budgets and for maintenance cost and expenditure control;

(E) Implements and supervises other Engineering programmes as directed by the Deputy Field Technical Officer.• These include the maintenance and construction of roads, the repair of reconstruction of refugee shelters, self-help projects, etc.

(F)  Prepares an annual work plan for all maintenance and other works under the responsibility of the Maintenance Engineer and updates same at regular intervals;

(G) Prepares a monthly maintenance progress report in coordination with the Office Engineer.
