The Programme Associate, Adolescent and Youth (A&Y) position is located in the Bangladesh Country Office (CO) in the Adolescents and Youth Unit and reports to the Programme Specialist, Adolescent and Youth. The Programme Associate, A&Y provides operational programme support to the Programme Specialist, A&Y.

The Programme Associate (A&Y) provides programme support services ensuring high quality, accuracy and consistency of work. S/he will also be required to work in close collaboration with and in support of the operations and programme staff of UNFPA Bangladesh Country Office in Dhaka and Cox’s Bazar Sub-Office to ensure that the procurement and administrative work necessary for optimal functioning of the team is efficiently completed. The Programme Associate will need to maintain the highest standards of calm, efficiency, discretion and independence judgment and be motivated, pro-active and a team player.
The Programme Associate supports the design, planning and management of UNFPA’s country programme by providing and managing data inputs, providing logistical support, monitoring project implementation and following up on recommendations. The Programme Associate applies established systems and procedures and assists in the creation of substantive knowledge by compiling, synthesizing and analyzing information relevant to population and development, reproductive health and gender issues. S/he is instrumental in facilitating programme/project implementation using and developing appropriate mechanisms and systems and ensuring compliance with established procedures.
Qualification and Experience:
Completed secondary level education required. First level university degree in project administration desirable.
Knowledge and Experience:
• Minimum of six years of relevant experience in programme management is required.
• Previous experience in the UN is an advantage;
• Strong interpersonal and organizational skills;
• Good knowledge of ERP systems e.g. PeopleSoft (ATLAS) highly desirable.
• Good writing and communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment
• Proficiency in current office software applications; good basic knowledge of finances and mastery of a series of financial and spreadsheet software.
Fluency in English and Bangla is required. Working knowledge of another UN language an asset.
