DRC is looking for Child Care Assistant responsible for supervising children who are admitted to a Supervised Children’s Play Area (SCPA) at DRC community centres and in the field. Play areas are open to children aged 2-5 years whose caregivers are attending a structured activity at the community centre. The Child Care Assistant is tasked with ensuring the safety and well-being of children attending the SCPA, in line with DRC’s SCPA policy. 
 
 
About the job 
 
The individual will report directly to the Team Leader-Protection. The main duties and responsibilities will be: 
 
• Register all children who wish to attend the SCPA; 
• Keep accurate records of the children attending the SCPA each day;  
• Provide supervision to children attending the SCPA in accordance with DRC’s SCPA policy, ensuring children’s safety and well-being is prioritized at all times;  
• Keep the SCPA clean and tidy at all times; 
• Report any potential child protection concerns to the Protection Officer in accordance with DRC’s reporting protocols.  
• Any other activities, as requested by the supervisor.  
 
 
 
About you 
• A minimum two years of experience in the field of child protection or childcare;  
• At least 2 years experience in running and managing adult group activities, in developing PSS tools and/or co-facilitating trainings to teams and volunteers. Prior experience in a camp setting is an advantage 
• High school diploma  
• Proven ability to communicate effectively with young children;  
• Strong team work skills; 
• Detail-oriented and organized; 
• Fluent in Arabic; knowledge of English an advantage.
