ORGANIZATIONAL CONTEXT

Job holders at this level perform activities and analytical work of limited complexity supporting several business areas and maintaining contacts with business counterparts to bring business requests into IT. They use their limited technical knowledge and experience to assist in gathering and analysing business needs, and supporting solution delivery. Job holders are likely to be working under the supervision of the Head of Business Analysis receiving guidance and regular feedback on work performed.

JOB PURPOSE

Partner with the business to understand their requests and operating environment in order to contribute to the transformation of business requirements into solutions exploiting IT capabilities and focusing on business satisfaction.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (not all-inclusive)

  • Act as first line of contact for business data reconciliation and reporting, escalating issues as appropriate
  • Analyze big data and generate useful conclusions and actionable recommendations for the business units
  • Assist business units in the development of reporting, analysis and performance metrics which allow the business to align and track business goals, drive innovation, insight and decision making
  • Compile and analyze data to provide business trends to management and assist in decision making
  • Reference and build business intelligence dashboards, analytic reports and data visualizations using Tableau and other reporting tools.
  • Write SQL queries and use SQL tools to access and customize stakeholder data
  • Conduct regular deep dives and gap analysis, providing solution recommendations to business leadership
  • Work closely with other team members as part of a cohesive group in exchanging knowledge through peer to peer interaction
  • Takes active steps to increase understanding of WFP's business environment, priorities and processes which are influenced by data

STANDARD MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education & Experience: Advanced University degree in Business, Computer Science/engineering or Information Management with one year of postgraduate professional experience in fields related to database, SQL, data warehousing and analytics or First University degree with at least three years of related work experience and/or training/courses.

Language: Fluency in both oral and written communication in English and Arabic.
