Background

Oxfam is a global movement of people working together to end the injustice of poverty. We are an international confederation of 21 organizations (affiliates) working together with partners and local communities in the areas of humanitarian, development and campaigning, in more than 90 countries.

Oxfam is committed to preventing any type of unwanted behaviour at work including sexual harassment, exploitation and abuse, lack of integrity and financial misconduct; and committed to promoting the welfare of children, young people and adults. Oxfam expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment through our code of conduct. We place a high priority on ensuring that only those who share and demonstrate our values are recruited to work for us.

All our work is led by three core values: Empowerment, Accountability, Inclusiveness.
• Accountability – Our purpose-driven, results-focused approach means we take responsibility for our actions and hold ourselves accountable. We believe that others should also be held accountable for their actions.
• Empowerment – Our approach means that everyone involved with Oxfam, from our staff and supporters to people living in poverty, should feel they can make change happen.

Justification

We see this year as a potential breakthrough moment which can potentially lead to relatively greater political and media interest on health issues. It is important to push health issues in general discourse, work towards a continued engagement with the government both at the central and the State levels and bring more voices in support of the health agenda. It is the right time to run a campaign to generate discourse around the prevailing health scenario, help people to discuss key health related issues with aspiring candidates and those already in power and get the political parties to commit to more progressive health reforms, a system for Universal Health Care (UHC) – with primary focused on major expansion and strengthening of public health services at all levels and demand for healthcare a justiciable right.

In this regard, Oxfam India is seeking an energetic, experienced and innovative person to coordinate the campaign on health at the national and state levels. The position involves working closely with health networks in five states including Bihar, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Uttar Pradesh and Odisha. The campaign will include both online and offline mobilization and advocacy with decision makers at the state and national levels.

• Support the planning and implementation of campaign activities at National and State levels.
• Work with the essential services, knowledge management and Public engagement teams to develop media products as per advocacy asks and updates in the external environment.

• Brief and oversee the work of internal and external agencies, such as designers, animators and printers for timely delivery of campaign communication material
• Coordinate with different groups including Oxfam team at the global, national and state levels for campaign building and delivery.
