The Global Crop Diversity Trust is seeking a candidate for the position of:

 

Head of Partnerships 

 

Reporting to the Executive Director, the Head of Partnership builds and nurtures corporate donor relations. Specifically, she/he leads the corporate strategic partnership relations with governments, intergovernmental, non-governmental organizations, financial institutions and the private sector to advance the Crop Trust’s resource mobilization. 

 

This role contains but is not limited to

 

Partnership relations and resource mobilization

 

• Lead, mature and execute the Crop Trust’s fundraising strategy
• Continuously develop and manage corporate strategic partnership relations and alliances with governments, intergovernmental, non-governmental organizations, financial institutions, civil society and the private sector;
• Identify and explore strategic entry points for fundraising with existing and potential new partners around the globe   
• Collaborate with the Head of Communications to promote the Crop Trust’s mandate and initiatives, raise awareness and stimulate action to advance the organization’s global agenda and resource mobilization;
• Initiate donor agreements and Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) in close consultation and with guidance from the Contracts and Grants Manager, 
• Explore and actively promote innovative sources of funding in collaboration with the Director of Finance;
• Provide fundraising and partnership support to the CGIAR Genebank Platform and newproject/program initiatives;
• Provide direction and strategic advice to the organization’s implementing partner for crowd-funding

Management 

 

• Lead, manage and supervise direct reports as well as consultants
• Coordinate, consolidate and review special briefings for the Executive Director on partnerships development and resource mobilization opportunities and progress
• Build knowledge sharing systems around the partnerships topic and activate specialists inside the organization for shared approaches depending on the target groups.
• Provide intellectual leadershiptechnical guidance, and foster a supportive and collaborative work environment;
• Establish and monitor the implementation of the partnerships team’s annual work plan and set performance indicators;
• Develop and manage thteam’s operating budget.
• Serve on the Program and Development Team of the organization 
• Perform any other duties as required. 

 

Qualifications, Skills and Experience

 

Education

 

• Master’s degree in social sciences, international relations, political science, or related fields.

 

Experience:

• 10 years of relevant and progressive professional and managerial experience in partnership management and resources mobilization within an international organization; 
• In-depth experience in multi-stakeholder partnership building dealing with both public and private sectors, with international or intergovernmental organizations;
• Affinity with the Crop Trust’s mission and a keen interest in environmental and science topics
• Project management skills including experience in driving long-term programs
• Strong analytical skills in combination with result driven focus
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and ability to interact effectively with a wide range of audiences from different cultural backgrounds;

 

Language requirements: 

• Fluency in English required and proficiency in other relevant languages would be an asset.

 

Terms and Conditions: The Crop Trust offers an attractive remuneration package including a competitive salary, non-contributory retirement savings plan, medical insurance and leave provisions. This is a Professional position classified as Level 5 (level 6 being the highest)The salary range for Level starts at Euro 90,000. All benefits are denominated and paid in Euros. Staff of the Global Crop Diversity Trust (including German nationals) is exempt from host country income tax. Relocation costs are covered for candidates residing outside of the Bonn/Cologne or surrounding areas. The initial contract will be for a period of 3 years, subject to a probationary period of 12 months
