The European Investment Fund (EIF) is seeking to recruit for its DataHub Division at its headquarters in Luxembourg, a,
(Junior) Officer(s) – Reporting and Data Analysis
Appointment will be made on the basis of a three (3) year fixed-term assignment.
This is a generic campaign in view of both current and possible future vacancies
Purpose:
The successful candidate(s) will primarily be in charge of the timely production of data, analytics and general oversight for the reports delivered to EIF mandators and/or internal projects. Such reports and analysis will typically cover Private Equity, Guarantees and Securitization business lines. S/he will act as an expert on all data related aspects, particularly reporting and analytics, and will work in close coordination with the Head of Unit. S/he will be in constant contact with other relevant EIF services and external stakeholders.
Reporting line:
S/he will report to the Head of the Reporting and Data Analysis Unit within the DataHub Division.
Responsibilities:
- Reporting: Gather and interpret data available in EIF’s systems required to produce data tables for the reports to be produced by the Unit for EIF mandators and/or internal stakeholders, contribute to the compilation of such reports and answer ad-hoc data requests / questions in relation to the reports;
- Data analysis: Review data and information available to EIF in order to identify and interpret any patterns or useful trends in complex data sets; handle ad-hoc requests from internal and external EIF stakeholders regarding data topics (e.g. questions regarding the analysis of data subsets, identification of patterns in data universes, modelling of expected future development of defined parameters like performance, cash flow or return expectations);
- Contribute pro-actively to the enhanced automation of processes in relation the reporting and data analysis activities of the Unit;
- Be the first point of contact for data analysis and reporting in relation to the different EIF business lines; supporting data driven decision-making within the organization.
Qualifications:
- University degree, preferably at postgraduate level, in Economics, Finance, Accounting or related subjects; Postgraduate degrees and/or additional professional qualifications (e.g. CFA, ACCA) would be considered an asset;
- Minimum three (3) years' of relevant professional experience in Banking/Asset Management, Reporting, Quantitative Analysis, Audit, Fund Administration, Finance or related area, preferably with exposure to Private Equity or Guarantees/Securitization assets;
- Proven knowledge of software tools (e.g. Excel, Business Objects, Tableau, etc.) and programming languages (e.g. SAS, R, Python, VBA etc.) typically used in the context of reporting and data analytics activities;
- Excellent knowledge of English, both oral and written. Knowledge of other EU languages would be an advantage.

- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with excellent interpersonal skills and ability to defend own opinion;
- Creativity, and ability to analyze problems from new angles, and to identify and develop solutions depending on the issues to be addressed;
- Team player.
