 Overview

The Middle East Regional Office based in Amman, Jordan was created in January 2014 as part of NRC’s reorganization process.  We currently have more than 3,000 staff in the Middle East region assisting people displaced by conflict in Syria, Libya Iraq, Lebanon, Jordan and Palestine.  Our work is concentrated on the shelter, education, food security, legal assistance and water, sanitation and hygiene sectors with strong protection and resilience focus integrated into our programs.

NRC operations is in the Middle East have grown significantly in recent years and further growth is expected in the months to come. Role Specific/Purpose:

The purpose of this position is to be responsible for supporting and contribute to the development and implementation of M&E systems, including M&E SOPs, guidance and tools in the region, in coordination with the Regional Better learning Programme Advisor,

The Regional Better Learning Prpgramme M&E and Research Coordinator will support programme staff in planning for and executing M&E, including, data collection methodology and tools and data management, analysis and use.

Also be responsible for delivery of training and capacity building of programme and M&E support staff on M&E technical and conceptual areas.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years relevant experience in creating and leading the implementation of M&E systems for an international NGO and humanitarian/recovery context, with university degree in related field.

High command in English and Arabic, both verbal and written is required,an analytical thinker with excellent computer skills in using software such as PowerBI, STATA, SPSS, NVivo, CommCare, Survey CTO, Kobo, ODK, SharePoint, Dynamics, Sales Force, DGIS2, Visio.

And previous work in Psycho Social Support (PSS)/Social Emotional Learning (SEL) programs is considered as an asset.


Key Job Tasks and Responsibilities:

1. Capacity building and training of programme and M&E support staff on M&E technical and conceptual areas.

2. Supervise and mentor M&E support staff in executing M&E plan.

3. Focal point for the M&E component, and support the Advisor with the research component of the BLP across relevant Country Offices. 

4. Support Country Offices with implementation of, adherence to, and reporting against the BLP grant Results Management Framework.

5. Support Psycho Social Support (PSS)/Social Emotional Learning (SEL) Adviser and Better Learning Programme Capacity Development Manager in reporting requirements.

6. Provide in-country capacity building on M&E and research for MERO and country office staff working on BLP (Better Learning Programme).

7. Support country offices through capacity building on the 3EA M&E toolkit implementation and contextualisation.

8.Compile and disseminate best practice, lessons learnt, recommendations, and case studies from project implementation, creating and tracking against a project improvement plan
