Your team

Within the Directorate Maastricht Upper Area Control Centre, Change Management ensures that all changes are efficiently and promptly handled, using adequate methods and procedures, in order to guarantee coherence with the MUAC Work Plan (MWP) and to minimise the impact of changes upon the other processes.

Your role

Your role will be to:



    • Act as System Level Engineer for the IOPG programme;

 

    • Ensure that system level quality requirements are met and where required negotiate with suppliers;

 

    • Ensure compliance management and reporting in accordance with applicable regulations/standards;

 

    • Ensure that relevant system level documentation is available in line with MADAP baselines; to ensure the appropriate level of detail of the system level documentation required for development of test descriptions at system level and traceability for regulation compliance;

 

    • Ensure and support that the IOPG programme defines functional and non-functional requirements in line with MADAP system level requirements;

 

    • To ensure and support that the IOPG programme deliverables can be integrated into the MADAP system;

 

    • Support reviews with regard to e.g. technical risk assessments, failure modes, safety, security etc.;

 

    • Analyse Change Proposals in order to:

        • Formulate the impact on system and subsystem level requirements;

        • Support coherent implementation of technical changes in line with the Architectural Roadmap and Architectural Design constraints/principles;


 

    • Propose alternative solutions as required in line with the system level architectural design principles and constraints;

 

    • Perform any other task in line with the main purpose of the job.

 

Required qualifications, experience & competencies

 

    • Completed university studies of at least four years in a relevant area (Computer Science, Engineering, etc.)

 

 

    • In addition to the above, minimum 5 years of relevant working experience

 

    • Experience with the interoperability concept of the Flight Object (EUROCAE ED133 and/or via SESAR projects)

 

    • Knowledge of ATM system architecture, constituents, interfaces and functionalities

 

    • Experience, specifically with ATM System and architecture withi regard to interoperability concepts of ground-ground and air-ground

 

    • Experience in writing functional specifications and assessing technological proposals including functional, qualitative and cost aspects

 

    • The following would be an advantage: understanding or experience with Maastricht UAC MADAP systems; knowledge of the concepts of air-ground interoperability and sharing this data via ground networks

    • At the closing date of the notice of competition, internal candidates must have completed their probationary period.

 

    • This is an appointment for a determined period of 5 Year(s). It could be extended up to a maximum of 7 years or converted into an undetermined contract.

 

    • Staff appointed to an established post or for an undetermined period: If successful, the person will maintain his/her current type of appointment yet be selected to fill this position under the conditions set above (determined period). At the end of this limited-term appointment, he/she will be transferred to a post corresponding to his type of post, grade and function group.

 

    • Staff appointed for determined period: If successful, the person will continue his/her current type of appointment if compliant with duration limits laid down in Annex X of the Staff Regulations/General Conditions of Employment.

 

    • Pursuant to Rule of Application No. 2, Article 16a, the successful candidate shall be appointed at the grade in the function group and to the type of post indicated in the vacancy notice, or, if a group of grades has been published, in principle at the basic grade.
