Job Description

Lebanon has seen a dramatic increase in children living and working on the streets. In an effort to keep children safe, the International Rescue Committee (IRC) is working in close coordination with the governmental bodies and the communities to prevent and respond to abuse, neglect and exploitation of girls and boys. IRC provides psychosocial support for children, parenting skills training for caregivers, case management for children, capacity building for case management agencies, as well as life skills, psychosocial activities and learning sessions for street and working children in North Bekaa, Tripoli, Akkar, Beirut and Mount Lebanon.

IRC takes a rigorous approach to providing concrete evidence through research and collecting information from the field and beneficiaries in order to inform programming and advocacy plans. Working children in Lebanon are one of the most underserved population; their families struggle to make needs met and face challenges in accessing services. The child protection team with the support of a consultant had recently completed a nationwide survey targeting working children in the worst forms of child labor and their caregivers. This includes barriers to access protection, justice, livelihood opportunities and education. The study aimed at documenting barriers that face working children in accessing services. The study also aimed to create data around the profile of working children across the country and the incidents of violence they are subjected to. IRC would like to hire a data analyst to finalize the survey results through a thorough analysis and report.
