The EIB, the European Union's bank, is seeking for its Secretariat General Directorate - EIB Institute - Arts and Culture Programme

at its headquarters in Luxembourg:

TRAINEE

Duration: 5 months (fixed start date: 01st September 2019)

(With possible extension up to 6 months if required by University)

Please note that you are requested to limit your applications to a maximum of three traineeship publications. We will only consider and retain the first three applications submitted.

Objective of the traineeship

You will contribute to the overall implementation of the Arts & Culture Programme and contribute to various initiatives and activities (relating to the enhancement of the Art Collection, the CDP (Conservators’ Development Programme), Art Commissions, project Art, Staff Engagement).

Responsibilities

Your main tasks will be:

  • CDP (Conservators’ Development Programme): establishing contact lists for conservation/restoration schools and academies throughout the EU. Provide research on courses offering;
  • Art Commissions: providing research on current commissions landscape, assist with the drafting of the Terms of Reference and rationale;
  • Project Art: researching potential artists for identified pilot;
  • Certificates of authenticity: establishing a list of missing certificates and contact and liaise with artists/agents/galleries to receive the missing ones;
  • Assisting the team in providing editorial and iconographic content to enrich the Virtual Museum microsite;
  • Expanding the current list of contacts for the programme, research potential stakeholders;
  • Contributing to the organisation of the event, dispatching and monitoring of invitations;
  • Assisting with the Public Relations for the event;
  • Contributing on the draft of informational material on the event.

    Academic qualifications and professional skills

    Academic qualifications

  • Final phase of studies or University degree (Minimum 4 years) in cultural management, public affairs, law or economics);
  • Ideally completed by a degree in the history of art.


           Professional skills and knowledge

  • Excellent knowledge of web-based research methodologies and tools;
  • Proven knowledge of the artistic field (players, dynamics), knowledge and understanding of the cultural sector (stakes and understanding of the field of cultural heritage (preservation, conservation);
  • Experience in event management, ideally cultural events.


            Languages

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, in English. Working knowledge of other EU languages would be an advantage (drafting will be an essential part of the traineeship).
