How can you make a difference? 

You will be joining a team of around 3000 staff in the Lebanon Field Office working to foster the human development of registered Palestine refugees.••

The main responsibilities include:

•           Assists in the initial screening of prospective borrowers for starts up and existing businesses, including explaining the loan application form, analyzing the loan request and visits the business;•

•           Prepares feasibility studies and raises recommendations to the Income Generation Officer in respect of proposed projects;

•           Monitors existing businesses and reports progress thereof to Income Generation Officer;

•           Provides enterprise counseling to borrowers mainly borrowers in arrears and deals with problem loans;

•           Carries out surveys on market needs and micro-enterprise possibilities in the respective area.

•           Maintains up-to-date data on applications, borrowers and implemented businesses in the respective area;

•           Prepares monthly reports on Programme activities in the area.

•          Performs such other duties as may be assigned.

Conditions of service•

Daily Paid, Grade 10

Monthly basic salary L.L. 1,721,916.

To qualify for this position, you will need:

Education

A University degree in Economics, Finance, Business Administration, Social Development or other related field.

Work

experience

Two years' experience in micro-enterprise development activities.

Language(s)

Good command of spoken and written English and Arabic.

You will also need to demonstrate the following competencies:

••• Good communication and negotiation skills, sound judgment and demonstrated problem-solving skills; •• Good analytical and reporting ability; •• Ability to operate standard computer software; •• Ability to work under pressure and challenging conditions;

•         Knowledge of the Near East environment and culture

Desirable Qualifications:

••• Previous experience with UNRWA or other UN Agency; ••• Special training in small business development and/or micro-credit; ••• Experience in working with internally displaced or refugee population.

Additional Information:

• •••Is required to travel in the field; must be willing and qualified to drive an Agency vehicle

•in the course of duty;

• •••Possession of a valid driving license
