UNRWA's human development goals

How can you make a difference? 

You will be joining a team of around 5,000 staff in the West Bank Field Office working to foster the human development of some 800,000 registered Palestine refugees.••

The incumbent of the post reports directly to Programme and Monitoring & Evaluation Officer, A 16.

The main responsibilities include:

In accordance with established Agency policy and procedures, the• incumbent:

•         Supports the supervisor in the examination of specific topics, collection of information and completion of reports on areas of UNRWA intervention.

•         Acts as the contact point for the collection and analysis of information related to provision of UNRWA services, from the relevant Programmes / Departments.

•         Reviews information from English and Arabic sources and prepares regular summaries and updates thereof.

•         Assists in the identification of publications relevant to ad hoc research projects.

•         Facilitates the monitoring of special initiatives such as workshops, seminars, focus group discussions and summer camp initiative and studies launched by other Agencies and NGOs.

Conditions of service•

Monthly basic salary JD821.6, plus an allowance of 1000 NIS payable in JD at UNRWA rate, Other benefits include monthly Provident Fund contribution (15% of basic salary paid by the Agency), compulsory medical insurance, 30 days of annual leave, and dependency allowance (if applicable).

Additional information

Possessing a valid driving license.

To qualify for this position, you will need:

Education

A university degree in social science or Business Administration.

Work

experience

Two years experience in undertaking postgraduate field research, compilation and analysis of statistics and directly dealing with community issues.

Language(s)

Good command of spoken and written English and Arabic.

Equivalency:

Candidates with an equivalent combination of relevant academic qualifications, professional training and progressive work experience may also be considered.

You will also need to demonstrate the following competencies:

•         Proficiency in standard Agency computer applications.

•         Ability to develop clear goals and prioritize assignments.

•         Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others in a team environment.

•         Ability to draft reports.

•         Excellent analytical skills.

•         Ability to work under pressure.
