OBJECTIVES OF THE PROGRAMME

To support the 47 Member States in providing high-quality immunization services to all communities in order to prevent mortality, morbidity and disability from diseases which are preventable through the optimum use of currently available vaccines and vaccines that become available periodically.

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES

The incumbent is assigned all or part of the following responsibilities which are performed according to the needs and agenda\: To monitor and collate all expenditure against grant budgets and project funding as defined in relevant documents and agreements and ensure compliance with any other specified grant requirements;To proactively support the IVD Programme Corodinator to prepare technical, financial and administrative reports for all IVD grants in addition to other technical reports as requested;In collaboration with IVD staff, facilitates the effective management of grants by cross-checking on the implementation of agreed objectives and results within the scope of approved budgets and work plans and prepares as required management, financial and administrative reports;To act as front-line focal point to liaise with partners on grants implementation, reporting, information sharing and future work planning, ensuring that IVD staff are kept appraised of relevant information, concerns or issues impacting current grants and/or future funding.To identify, document and share best practices on the implementation and management of grants to support other IVD staff to build their capacity in relation to grant compliance and reporting requirements;To perform other related responsibilities as assigned, including replacing and backstopping for others as required.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education

Essential\: First university degree in Accounting/Finance, Project Management, Public Policy or any other related fields.
Desirable\: Further training in International Development, business administration or other relevant field.

Experience

Essential\: At least two years' experience working with diverse stakeholders, including government, non-governmental and civil society organizations in grants management, project management and the grant making process. Experience in supporting capacity development of country offices to enhance their reporting skills. Experience in results-based management (RBM).
Desirable\: Experience with electronic management of data. Experience with intergovernmental agencies, the UN System or WHO and knowledge of national, regional and global partnerships and networks.

Skills

Demonstrated experience in project management, monitoring and evaluation, information gathering, management of data and reporting; Strong expertise in the analysis, organization and oversight of costs and expenditures to ascertain compliance and determine impact and results of awarded grants; Expertise in developing and promoting cooperative relationships externally with implementing partners and internally with colleagues at all levels, including the capacity to motivate others and work under pressure to meet defined deadlines; Prior experience supporting work planning with proven ability to "think outside the box" and to resolve problems in a proactive manner; Proven organizational and presentation skills and the ability to write in a clear and concise manner combined with a commitment to quality and client orientation including the ability to facilitate training and build capacity; Excellent interpersonal skills, discretion, tact and diplomacy.

REMUNERATION

WHO salaries for staff in the Professional category are calculated in US dollars. The remuneration for the above position comprises an annual base salary starting at USD 47,322 (subject to mandatory deductions for pension contributions and health insurance, as applicable), a variable post adjustment, which reflects the cost of living in a particular duty station, and currently amounts to USD 2102 per month for the duty station indicated above. Other benefits include 30 days of annual leave, allowances for dependent family members, home leave, and an education grant for dependent children.
