SCA Background

The Swedish Committee for Afghanistan (SCA) has been working in Afghanistan since 1982, presently managing development programmes concerning Health, Education, Rural Livelihoods and Community Governance, with a total annual budget of roughly USD 40 million. The total number of staff is around 5,500. During the last 10 years SCA has undertaken a change process moving from a primarily humanitarian service delivery approach towards more of a developmental role, putting increasing emphasis on capacity development, rights-based programming and outcome orientation. The mission of SCA is to empower individuals, communities and local organizations, primarily in rural areas and with particular focus on women, girls, boys and vulnerable groups such as people with disabilities, so that they may participate fully in society and influence their own development. Scope of work:

 The Security Guard is responsible of for overall safety and security of Office buildings, staff, vehicle and assets when he/she is on duty. SGs will report to Security Senior Officer and shall follow the set SCA Safety and Security Policy and Procedures.

Qualifications & Requirements:

Minimum graduated 12 Grade, 14 or higher education will be preferred.
Relevant work experience in NGOs, at least 1-2 years.
Fluency in Pashto and Dari, both written and spoken
Interpersonal and communication skills
Team worker, good listener
Honest, proactive and well mannered.
To be Afghan National
Being a resident of Jalalabad city

Main Responsibilities:

Patrol building grounds and floors to identify security risks, and ensure buildings, unoccupied rooms, external doors, car parks and security systems are safe and secured
Attend all responses to alarms, medical emergencies, fires and other similar matters, evacuating premises and contacting appropriate emergency services if required.
Provide protection to self and others including administration of First Aid as required.
Assist the SSO in evaluating and implementing SCA policies and procedures in the conduct of safety and security inspections.
Undertake escort duties for staff, students and visitors (including Mahram/escort).
Taking care of visitor registration- in/out
Searching bags and vehicles carefully when getting inside the building
Support other staff during loading and unloading
Provide a high level of client service
Any other task assign by line manager
