Your team

Within the Directorate Central Route Charges Office, Finance and central IT, the Pension Fund Service is responsible for preparing the investment strategy of the Pension Fund and submitting proposals to the Pension Fund Supervisory Board (PFSB), monitoring the execution of contracts with external investments Managers, subject to the approval of the PFSB.

Your role

You will perform the following tasks under the responsibility of your superior:



  • verify and record accounting transactions of the Pension Fund (i.e.: purchases and sales of financial assets, dividends, rebates, annual closing accounting entries, reconciliation of cash positions in bank accounts, verification statements of accounts of custodian banks and asset managers, preparation and follow up invoices concerning assets management and custody fees, etc.);

  • provide support with the preparation of the monthly and quarterly investment instructions (bank and asset manager);

  • provide support with the verification and the update of the portfolio of the Pension Fund for investment purposes;

  • assist with the preparation of the annual accounts of the Pension Fund;

  • provide support with the preparation of financial reports required by the Regulations of the Pension Fund (quarterly reports, bi-annual Newsletters, Annual Report);

  • provide support in the daily operations of the Pension Fund such organization of meetings and visits, coordination with Treasury and Accounting services, etc.

  • maintain an efficient filing system;

  • perform any other task in line with the main purpose of the function.

Required qualifications, experience & competencies


  • Post-secondary education attested by a diploma (i.e. bachelor degree in accounting) or secondary education attested by a diploma giving access to post-secondary education and relevant professional experience of at least three years;

  • In addition to the above, minimum 2 years of relevant working experience;

  • Knowledge of Financial accounting and reporting (e.g. general ledger, gains and losses from financial transactions, IFRS);

  • Ability to prepare accounting/financial reports;

  • Experience or knowledge with computer data entry skills and filing skills with an emphasis on accuracy. Knowledge of the Microsoft suite, in particular proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Access;

  • Understanding the ORACLE Financial system;

  • Knowledge of financial instruments and experience in accounting of investment operations would be an asset;

  • Knowledge of the Business Objects tool would be considered an asset;

Useful information

  • At the closing date of the notice of competition, internal candidates must have completed their probationary period.

  • The selected candidate will be offered a contract of 3 Year(s) pursuant to the provisions of the Conditions of Employment of Contract Staff at EUROCONTROL. The contract may be renewed. Before being established in the post, he/she will be required to provide certified copies of his/her degrees and successfully serve a probationary period of 9 months.

  • The successful candidate shall be appointed in principle at the basic grade of the advertised grades.

  • In case of reserve list: Suitable candidates, however not selected to fill the post, will be placed on a reserve list for similar functions. The period of validity of reserve list is 1 year from the approval of the selection board’s recommendations.
