Your team
Within the Directorate European Civil-Military Aviation, the DECMA/ACS/ENV Unit, in partnership with cross-Directorate colleagues, supports a wide range of stakeholders in the aviation sector by facilitating the measurement, monitoring and mitigation of the impact that aviation has on the environment.
Your role
PURPOSE OF THE TRAINEESHIP
Following policy developments in both aviation and environment fields (European and international).
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
Under the continuous supervision, support and coaching of a mentor the trainee will participate in the following tasks:
- Become aware with European climate change policy, European ETS and CORSIA legislation, developments in UFPs and biofuels and any other updates (for example UNFCCC, Paris Agreement, IPCC, etc.);
- Support with gathering news from other international fora (international transport forum, news on carbon markets and emission trading);
- Support for preparation of presentations, papers and reports;
- Support in the planning and preparation of conferences, seminars and workshops;
- Ad-hoc support to projects
DESIRED DURATION
6 months, up to 12 months
Your profile
- Master's or equivalent in Environmental studies, international relations, Aviation studies.
- Knowledge of European and International environmental policy.
- Research and drafting skills.
- The working languages of the Agency are English and French. Therefore, candidates must have an excellent command of English (written and verbal). Additional language knowledge may be an asset.

- A flat-rate allowance of €900 per month as a contribution towards living expenses will be granted.
