Welcome to the Fellowship Programme
The “Diversity & Inclusion Programme” is responsible for defining, implementing, and monitoring CERN’s diversity and inclusion (“D&I”) policy. The Programme is situated within the Human Resources Department (“HR”), reporting to the Head of the Department. It is responsible for driving actions to promote diversity and inclusion throughout CERN and to ensure that the corresponding principles are embedded into organisational policies, procedures and practices.

Working closely with the Diversity & Inclusion Programme Leader, you will have the opportunity to make a significant contribution to the promotion of workforce diversity and inclusion in a major international research infrastructure. You will collaborate with a variety of interlocutors throughout the Organization and will develop a range of competencies in HR, communication, event organisation, and administrative support.
In addition, as Diversity & Inclusion Analyst you will:
· Support the evolution, design and implementation of diversity-related activities;
· Explore research on D&I practices and produce recommendations;
· Collect, interpret and present HR diversity-related data;
· Establish and foster professional relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders;
· Prepare and deliver presentations;
· Draft articles and reports;
· Develop D&I-related events such as workshops and through digital media;
· Answer D&I related queries from CERN members of personnel and handle a number of external queries, including on sensitive topics;
· Handle administrative tasks and maintain the D&I Programme website.
For this position within the Programme, you will need to meet the following requirements:
- Be a national of a CERN Member or Associate Member State (https://home.cern/about/member-states);
- Possess a Bachelors or Masters level diploma and a maximum limit of 4 years’ experience after completion of your degree;
- Have a demonstrated interest in topics related to diversity and inclusion as well as HR;
- Be able to work autonomously, efficiently, and to undertake multiple tasks simultaneously;
- Have solid communication skills;
- Have a high proficiency in oral and written skills in English;
- Have a high proficiency in Office skills, particularly in PowerPoint.
The following skills are not required, but would be advantageous to the Programme’s activities:
- Ability to work with and interpret data as well as to analyse and visualise it with Excel;
- Written and/or oral proficiency skills in French;
- Basic skills in web development with tools such as Drupal;
- Experience on the topic of Diversity & Inclusion;
- Experience in raising awareness campaigns and/or communications
Please note that CERN Staff members are not eligible to apply for a Fellowship.
CERN would very much like to benefit from your expertise, commitment and passion. In return, we offer:
- An employment contract for between six months (minimum) up to a maximum of 36 months;
- A stipend ranging from 5,239 to 6,506 Swiss Francs per month (net of tax);
- Coverage by CERN’s comprehensive health scheme (for yourself, your spouse and children), and membership of the CERN Pension Fund;
- Depending on your individual circumstances: an installation grant, family, child and infant allowances as well as travel expenses to and from Geneva at the start and conclusion of the employment contract;
- 2.5 days of paid leave per month.
