AmeriCorps Service Members provide mentoring services for 30 at-risk youth (3rd-12th grade) in a designated school site. Students are referred by counseling staff, administration and other school officials to receive academic support, character development lessons, and service-learning opportunities throughout the school year. PASS AmeriCorps’ 40 Members are assigned, individually or in pairs, to one of 30 school sites in Oceanside, Vista, San Marcos, Valley Center-Pauma, or San Diego Unified School Districts for the duration of the school year. Members are responsible for implementing the PASS AmeriCorps Program model, facilitating parent outreach, and organizing activities for National Days of Service. Members receive extensive Orientation Training, as well as ongoing professional development, weekly/monthly team meetings, and weekly on-site coaching from assigned PASS AmeriCorps Supervisor.
Full-time, 10-month commitment, 1700 minimum hours, serving M-F during school hours (8.5+ hrs/day) and one additional hour per week for mandatory team meeting, some mandatory weeknights and weekend days/nights.

Qualifications:
22 years or older, Associate degree or higher, computer proficient (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), own vehicle and valid driver's license, proof of U.S. citizenship or legal permanent residency, preferred 1-2 years’ experience working with youth, Spanish-speaking a plus. Will be required to complete SDCOE and AmeriCorps applications, fingerprinting/background check, reference check, TB testing, submit university transcripts, and sign Term-of-Service contract.

$17,000/2nd Year
There is a $6,195 Segal AmeriCorps Education Award given upon successful completion of service.
