Job Description

Program Background Summary:

The USAID-funded Pakistan Reading Project (PRP), implemented by the International Rescue Committee (IRC) and its partners (Creative Associates International, World Learning, and Institute of Rural Management), is a seven-year project with the objective to support the provincial and regional departments of education (DoE) throughout Pakistan to improve reading skills of children in grades one and two. The project aims to achieve this goal through three distinct but interrelated components that work in synergy to affect the quality of early grade education: improved classroom learning environment for reading, improved policies and systems for reading, and community based support for reading in Pakistan.

Job Overview/Summary: The Finance Intern is to assists the Senior Finance officer by managing the day-to-day operation of the accounting unit. The finance Intern is responsible for financial record keeping of the day to day transactions in accordance with IRC-PRP policy and procedures. Specific responsibilities are as follows.

Major Responsibilities:

·Utilization of Online BVA to clear pending Payment request.

·Assist SFO for Month end closing financial reports and data filing

·Scanning and Binding of Financial Data of old record.

·Affixing of Paid, Cancellation stamps on financial vouchers

·Maintaining of Bank files.

·Preparing and generating of CPR, and depositing of Income tax challan with Bank on weekly basis.

·Tagging and journal listing of financial record.

·Frequently bank visits for collecting bank instruments

·Assist SFO in internal/external audit.

·Any other duty assigned by the supervisor

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

Education:

B.Com. MBA Finance, M.COM

Work Experience:

At least Six months experience in relevant field.

Demonstrated Skills and Competencies:

Honesty and strong commitment to social justice, promoting gender awareness and equality.

Accuracy in record checking.

Ability to work as part of the team.

Language Skills:Good communicator in English, Urdu - both written and oral as well as a good listener. 

Certificates or Licenses: Good command over Ms Excel worksheets and other related Ms Office software.
