Functional Responsibilities

Under the supervision of the Project Manager, the Database & GIS Associate is responsible to perform the following functions:

●      Provide its support in the conceptualization  of a relational database  for the collection of data 

●      Develop and adapt opensource software that will be managed by the Database and GIS Expert for data collection and analysis that may be operated by a platform geo referenced and produce maps to aid in the decision

●      Provide support in the development of tools for the management of data pros of analysis and monitoring of the execution of the project.

●      Follow up with the teams on the ground to obtain information on the collection  and recovery of data and provide support to team regarding the good use of application

●       Provide support in the management of the dashboard for the project, make the regular update of the logbook

●      Provide support in the creation of Web interface, mobile app ( JavaScript / ReacJs /node.JS) and deploy architecture on Docker/dockerrswarm with the use a of API to fetch data

●      Provide support to integrate information between UNOPS and USI servers

●      Drafting of the reports of the project and to ensure the follow-up and evaluation

●      Provide support in the achievement of the maps from QGIS and in the treatment of data geographically, position their origin on a map

●      Fulfill other tasks according to the needs

Education/Experience/Language requirements

Education

●      Completion of secondary school is required

●      First University degree in Information Technology system, computer sciences, computer programming, or any related field will be considered an asset and may substitute for some of the required years of experience.


Work Experience and Language

●      Minimum 6 years of relevant experience in Information Technology System, Computer programming, or other related field

●      Fluency in French is required

●      Intermediate level in English is required 

●      Proficiency in computers and office software packages (MS Office) is required

●      Minimum 1 year of relevant experience in Web development

Contract type, level and duration

Contract type:Local Individual Contract Agreement (LICA) Regular/Monthly: This contract is a regular monthly contract, which requires ongoing services during the term of the contract and payments will be made at the end of each month.

Contract duration:Open-Ended contract subject to good performance, availability of funds and organizational requirements
