The Education Section, UNICEF East Asia and Pacific Regional Office (EAPRO) is seeking an individual consultant to provide technical support and inputs before and during a Regional Seminar “Unleashing the Power of Data and Evidence for Equity and Equality of Education in ASEAN’, to be held in Malaysia on 15-17 October 2019.

How can you make a difference?

The Education Section, UNICEF East Asia and Pacific Regional Office (EAPRO) is seeking an individual consultant to provide technical support and inputs before and during a Regional Seminar “Unleashing the Power of Data and Evidence for Equity and Equality of Education in ASEAN’, to be held in Malaysia on 15-17 October 2019.  

 

Work Assignment:

Under the supervision of Education Specialist, the consultant will undertake the following work assignments: 

1.     Summarize the Responses to Pre-Seminar Survey

1.1   Analyze the country responses to the online survey on education data and statistical system in the ASEAN member states and a few other countries in East Asia and Pacific region. 

1.2   Develop a PowerPoint presentation on the summary of the survey responses.

1.3   Present key findings of the survey responses and recommendations at the Regional Seminar in Malaysia.

2.     Support the facilitation of various technical sessions at the Regional Seminar

2.1  Give presentations and/or facilitate technical sessions on education data and statistics (e.g. Education Management Information System, Household Survey, Data Analysis and Communication, SDG4 Monitoring etc.).

2.2  Support the participating countries in identifying gaps and planning for improvement of their respective education data/statistical system.

2.3  Provide key recommendations to UNICEF, MOE and other stakeholders (e.g. ASEAN Secretariat) for future actions and potential areas of support.

Estimated Duration of Contract: 5 working days during 1-17 October 2019

 

Official Travel: Travel to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia will be required for 15-17 October 2019

 

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…

  • An Advanced University Degree in education, information management, economics, psychology, sociology or other related social science field is required.
  • Minimum 15 years of progressive work experience in relevant area of work.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in a multicultural environment.
  • Fluency in English, with excellent facilitation and report writing skills required.
  • Ability to multitask and work under tight deadlines.
  • Ability to work with multiple stakeholders.

 

Interested candidates are requested to submit CV or P-11, full contact information of minimum 2 references, availability, and proposed daily professional fee, and all-inclusive travel costs to/from Bangkok and other incidentals in USD by 18 September 2019. Please note the air tickets under UNICEF contract shall be re-routable, refundable type (economy class and most direct route). The consultant will be responsible for own travel insurance, visa fee and terminal expenses.
