Under the supervision of Philanthropy Officer - the staff member will help build and grow UNICEF Next Generation by engaging with target group of young professionals, leaders, and future/current philanthropist who are committed to UNICEF’s mission.

The incumbent will be working in close collaboration with a range of staff in the office and external parties to help develop and monitor NextGen activities. S/He provides regular feedback on the status of NextGen through monitoring milestones and advises on improvements to keep activities on track.

UNICEF Next Generation (NextGen) is a group of young leaders, entrepreneurs and innovators in their 20s and 30s who commit their resources, resolve and enthusiasm toward supporting UNICEF’s life-saving work.  NextGen members mobilize their networks and inspire their generation to take action on behalf of the world’s most vulnerable children.

 

Major Responsibilities

  1. Responsible for portfolio management of NextGen widespread members with a goal of growing membership to UNICEF Thailand.
  2. Support the Philanthropy Officer in ensuring NextGen meet its annual financial goal. 
  3. Through regular research, identify prospects to further develop the pipeline for the NextGen Steering Committees; ensuring diverse supporters are diverse, also to contribute in developing strategies on how to further engage prospects and NextGen members in the lifecycle of a UNICEF supporter.
  4. Serve as focal point of the monthly NextGen meeting and related activities and further engage NextGen through awareness raising activity and support individual NextGen members’ activities and annual Nextgen event.
  5. Preparing and maintaining documents and individual/group plans for the monitoring of NextGen activities and financial expenditures.
  6. Support NextGen activities including but not limited to: committee meetings and events. The role includes preparation of materials, maintaining RSVP lists, drafting and tracking email correspondences, and coordinating event logistics, among other responsibilities.
  7. Monitor and contribute to the NextGen UNICEF website and social media.
  8. Working closely with the communication team in approving content to use for advocacy or fundraising.
  9. Coordinate with NextGen, digital and acquisition team in recruiting more NextGen members.
  10. Ensure regular communication with NextGen on the progress of NextGen supported programs and report back to NextGen on a regular basis (newsletter, videos, etc.), to further motivate and engage NextGen and their network.
  11. Provide administrative and necessary support relevant to the project, i.e. arranging meetings, drafting related minutes, maintaining the donor database system, etc.

 

Qualifications of Successful Candidate

  • Completion of secondary education. University degree in related field, i.e. Marketing, Communication, Business Administration preferred.
  • Minimum six years of working experience with one year direct professional experience to the role of the position, corporate partnerships, corporate engagement, new business development, corporate fundraising or public relations activities, of professional work experience in marketing and communication.
  • Thai Nationals only.
  • Experience in an international organization desirable, familiarity with UN systems is a plus.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English and Thai required.
  • Proficiency in the use of computers and especially in word processing and spreadsheets is a must.
  • Proven ability to conceptualize, plan and execute ideas.
  • Ability to express clearly and concisely ideas and concepts in written and oral form.
  • Good analytical, negotiation and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to manage complex projects and a track record of success.
  • Ability to work effectively and harmoniously in an international multicultural environment.
  • Meet UNICEF’s core value and core competencies (Drive for Result, Working with People and Communication).
  • Proven records of proficiency in the following: Formulating strategies and concepts, Analyzing, Persuading and Influencing, Relating and Networking, and Entrepreneurial thinking.
  • Experience in working in related domain to the role of this position in the UN, UNICEF or with International NGOs or global organizations is a plus.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are essential, both written and verbal.
  • Must possess a strong work ethic, have confidence, take initiative and be an enthusiastic team player.
  • Must be a creative thinker with ability to proactively develop new ideas and outreach strategies.
  • Ability to develop relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Event planning and fundraising experience preferred.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule that includes weekend and evening commitment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel, and have experience using a fundraising database.
  • In-depth knowledge of UNICEF organizational structure, administrative policies and procedures, is a plus.
  • Proven ability to conceptualize, plan and execute ideas as well as transfer knowledge and skills.
