The GSSC is looking for a proactive and committed Human Resources professional to join our HR Operations team. This is a key role contributing to a wide range of activities in talent management, business partnership and client-oriented collaboration with staff and managers in the centre.

UNICEF’s Global Shared Services Centre (GSSC) provides services to UNICEF offices around the world in the areas of Finance, Master Data Management, Human Resources Administration, Payroll, and IT Customer Care.

Our mission is to be a centre of excellence for the global delivery of efficient services within a culture of customer service, continuous business improvement, knowledge-sharing and innovation to support the effective achievement of UNICEF's programme results worldwide.

HR Operations Section in the GSSC leads and provides support in Talent Management, Performance Management, Staff Well Being and Learning and Development activities for staff and managers working in our office.

How can you make a difference?

The GSSC is looking for a proactive and committed Human Resources professional to join our HR Operations team. This is a key role contributing to a wide range of activities in talent management, business partnership and client-oriented collaboration with staff and managers in the centre.

This will involve:

Strategic HR Partnership

  • Coordinate and conduct selection processes for recruitment of staff, interns and consultants, in partnership with hiring managers
  • Provide technical, recruitment and staffing advice to clients and partners
  • Coordinate capacity building initiatives for staff and managers
  • Develop and implement outreach, retention and staff well-being strategies.
  • Plan and participate in career events and outreach campaigns

Staff Administration

  • Oversee HR staff administration functions for GSSC staff, including contract extensions, separations and attendance
  • Engage and guide staff members with client-oriented approach on queries related to entitlements, performance management, staff well-being and talent management
  • Provide accurate and clear HR policy interpretation

HR Initiatives and Reporting

  • Lead streamlining and innovation of HR initiatives, driving opportunities for process improvements and piloting implementation
  • Conduct research on recruitment best practices and staff well-being
  • Draft strategic HR documents and internal guidelines
  • Develop reports on HR performance
  • Prepare HR presentations for management and key stakeholders

People Management

  • Supervise HR Associate, promoting a culture of care, support and continuous/honest feedback
  • Support capacity building and career development of team

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…

  • Minimum of 4 years work experience in human resources management, including Talent Management and HR generalist/business partner experience
  • University Degree (Bachelor’s Degree) in Human Resources, Business Administration, Social Sciences or a related field
  • Experience conducting selection assessments and interviews
  • Ability to analyze, draft and present HR statistics
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Excel
  • Initiative, proactivity, and self-starter mentality
  • Ability to bring innovation and contribute within a collaborative and multi-cultural team environment
  • Strong partnership skills and ability to coordinate with the stakeholders
  • Fluency in English with strong writing skills
  • Knowledge of UNICEF/UN HR policies is a strong asset
