STANDARD MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education:First Degree in Economics, Agriculture, Agricultural/Irrigation Engineering, Disaster Management, Environmental Science, Environmental and Natural Resource Management, Engineering related to Energy and Climate Change

Language:Fluency in English; understanding, writing, reading & speaking; and Chichewa.

 

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (not all-inclusive)
  • Responsible for overall planning and coordination of WFP activities at the assigned district.
  • Assist the District Council in the timely development and submission of project proposals, including: budget, activity implementation, and procurement plans and closely monitor and support their timely execution.
  • Prepare field visit plans and monitor the different project sites on a regular basis, ensuring that progress is made as planned (targeting; progress of activities; distributions of inputs).
  • Represent WFP in all relevant district level meetings/coordination forums, and produce and submit an overview of the discussions to the Sub-office
  • Supervise and provide technical support to the Field Monitor Assistants (FMA) in the district
  • Preparing the ground setting and relevant documents when hosting missions in collaboration with the Country office.
DESIRED EXPERIENCES FOR ENTRY INTO THE ROLE

At least five years of progressively responsible work related experience in facilitating participatory community sessions
