Event Management Intern (f/m)

Limited contract for 6 months; preferred starting date: January 2020 with 20-38.5h/week; Location: Innsbruck/Austria

SOS Children’s Villages International is the umbrella organisation for the global federation of SOS Children’s Villages. As a non-governmental social development organisation we support children without parental care and families in difficult living conditions through services in care, education, health and emergency relief, and we advocate for the rights of children and young people, in alliance with a great diversity of partners. We work in 136 countries and territories, reaching over one million children, young people, families and caregivers each year. To support us with this important responsibility we are now looking for a committed:

Event Management Intern (f/m)
(Limited contract for 6 months, preferred starting date: January 2020 with 20-38.5h/week)

Location: International Office Innsbruck

As an Event Management Intern you will provide support to the Special Projects Advisor-Events with the preparation of the General Assembly of SOS Children´s Villages International which is going to be held in June 2020.

Tasks and Responsibilities
  • Support with the preparation of the General Assembly
  • Work in partnership with Member Associations – daily correspondence, follow up actions
  • Work in partnership with partners / suppliers – setting up the conference
  • Work with the event software and reporting tools
  • Other duties as required
Requirements
  • Bachelor/Master student or recent graduate in Event Management
  • Previous experience with event management/organisation
  • Knowledge of event technology is an asset
  • Ability to work under pressure to tight timelines
  • Creative problem solving skills
  • Outgoing and friendly personality who likes working with people of all cultures
  • Familiar with Microsoft office
  • Fluency in German & English, Spanish is an advantage
  • Flexibility of working hours when required (e.g. availability on a full-time basis as of May/June 2020)
  • Applicants must hold a valid Austrian working permit or be eligible to work within the EU
