Seeking Technical Advisors for the USAID/Jordan Women’s Economic Empowerment and Leadership Activity

Position Description: GRI is seeking multiple candidates to serve as Technical Advisors for USAID's anticipated the Jordan Women’s Economic Empowerment and Leadership Activity (WEELA), which is intended to support U.S. Government’s efforts to contribute to increasing women’s access to employment in Jordan. WEELA will improve women’s access to job markets, enhance the workforce enabling environment, and address inequalities and prohibitive social norms and traditions. Successful candidates will have experience in one or more of the following categories:
Business Enabling Environment Reform
Workforce Development
Inclusive Human Resource Management
Safe and Equitable Workplaces
Strategic Communications
Information Communication Technologies (ICT)
Responsibilities: The Chief of Party will bear primary responsibility for overall leadership, project planning and implementation, and ensuring timely and high-quality expertise and deliverables for USAID. S/he will serve as the primary point of contact to USAID and contribute to successful, positive relationship with USAID and Mission representatives and other key stakeholders. The Chief of Party will be accountable for both the quality of the project, as well as for its effective financial and operational management. S/he will manage a team of technical staff, organizational partners and short-term consultants. The Chief of Party is responsible for achieving the expected results of the project and solving problems that may arise.
Qualifications:
Demonstrated technical expertise in a field relevant to the WEELA scope of work
Minimum of seven (7) years of field experience supporting women’s economic empowerment programming
Detailed knowledge of the Middle East context; experience working in Jordan preferred
Proven success liaising with high level representatives from the public and private sectors
Ability and interest to live and work in Aman, Jordan
