Systems Intern

IT Infrastructure Support

The International Potato Center (CIP) is seeking a proactive and responsible Systems Intern from the professional careers of Systems Engineer, Information technologies, Computer Science or related careers to be part of the Information Technology team.

The position: the intern will be trained in the operation of network and communications infrastructure under a local network with Microsoft operating platform and will support end users on office applications and specific applications for research. This position will be based in HQ-Lima, Peru and will report to the Infrastructure and Operations Officer.

Training activities:

• Support in the diagnosis of HW / SW incidents of network and communications infrastructure. • Support in the resolution of incidents and problems in the infrastructure of network and communications, and network devices connected to a local LAN network.

• Support to maintain the operations in Datacenter and network telecommunications rooms, resolution of network incidents and others.

• Support to Install all network hardware and software and make needed upgrades and repairs • Support to collect data in order to evaluate and optimize network or system performance What are we looking for?

• Students of the last semesters (8 thto 10 ) or recently graduate of Systems Engineer, Telecommunications, Computer Science or related career, belonging to the upper third of their faculty (indispensable requirement).

• Knowledge of Windows 10 Operating System, Microsoft Office 365, OSI model and TCP/IP knowledge and diagnosis of network issues.

• Capabilities to support network systems for end users and remote users (oriented to the services) • Interpersonal communication and teamwork skills.

• Knowledge of ITIL foundation, Cisco CCNA switching, security and wireless

• Willingness for learning and analytical skills.

• Intermediate English level.
