The International Law Division provides legal services in the area of ESA’s international relations including those with EU institutions. It is monitoring the evolution of space law and national space legislation and representing the Agency in international forums dealing with space law. It is responsible for drafting the Agency's framework for industrial policy and procurement regulations and providing legal support and advice on security and export control.

During the Traineeship, your role as a YGT will involve doing research, drafting legal documents and providing legal support and advice on EU law, especially on institutional or programmatic matters relevant to ESA-EU cooperation as well as on all other areas relevant to the Division’s activities.
You should have just completed, or be in the final year of a university course at Master's level (or equivalent) in international and European law.
The working languages of the Agency are English and French. A good knowledge of one of these is required. Knowledge of another Member State language would be an asset.
You should demonstrate good interpersonal skills and the capacity to work both independently and as part of a team.
During the interview your motivation and overall professional perspective/career goals will also be explored.
