Community Stabilization Unit Business Development Intern

 

Under the overall supervision of the Chief of Mission and the direct supervision of the Community Stabilization Unit (CSU) Business Development Advisor the incumbent will provide administration support to funding opportunities that largely fall under the responsibility of the CSU, with a specific focus on USAID competed bids.

  

Responsibilities:              

 

                Under the direct responsibility of the CSU Business Development Advisor:

  • Develop a strong understanding of the USAID competitive mechanisms, and of IOM’s PIO status within organizations that bid on USAID solicitations;
  • Update IOM-DC’s Proposals Pipeline Tracker when necessary;
  • Assist the BDA Consultant in checking online resources -- Grants.gov, FedBizOpps.com and the USAID Forecast -- for expected solicitations (RFAs/RFPs – Requests for Applications/Proposals);
  • Whenever an expected RFA is issued, assist the BDA Consultant in preparing proposal documents for Kick-off Meetings, i.e., Proposal Calendars, Team Rosters, Questions to USAID, etc. Attend and participate in Kick-off Meetings, shadowing the BDA Consultant;
  • In cases when IOM leads a bid and has sub-partners, prepare Sub-partner Packets with templates;
  • Provide support with the review and possible editing of all competitive USAID applications (proposals) developed in the field;
  • Perform any related duties, as required;

 

Eligibility Requirements:

 

  • Be enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree program (minimum bachelor’s degree or equivalent);
  • Or be enrolled in a graduate school program (second university degree or equivalent or higher;)
  • Or have graduated with a university degree and if selected, must commence the internship within one year of graduation;
