Objectives of the Programme and the immediate Strategic
Objective
Budget and Financial Services (BFU) is a part of the Division of General Management and is responsible for supporting the work of WHO by providing efficient and flexible managementof the Organization's financial resources and for accommodating varying circumstances while allowing for sound financial control and ensuring adherence to financial rules and regulations at all times.
DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES
Summary of Assigned Duties (Describe what the incumbent has to do to achieve main objectives; include main achievements expected)
2- Processing medical claims daily on Staff Health Insurance system.
3- Contacts and/or prepares correspondence to medical providers, i.e. physicians, dentists, clinics, laboratories, etc. concerning medical claims/payment requests.
4- Makes the necessary communication with Head Quarter Office regarding the participants affiliation coverage and claims payment and to obtain the necessary advices from the Medical Adviser if needed.
5- Other relevant duties as requested.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education Qualifications
Essential Graduation from a secondary school or equivalent.
Desirable University degree in Pharmacy, commerce, business administration or related field, as well as special training in automated accounting would be an advantage.
Experience
Essential At least 3 years relevant experience with health Insurance or pharmaceutical companies
Desirable Knowledge of pharmaceutical products and medical terminology and laws and practices of medical insurers would be a distinct advantage
Skills
The incumbent controls an ever increasing workload by revising priorities often on a daily basis and often several times a day. The incumbent uses mature judgement when responding to unusual requests, courtesy when redirecting callers and diplomacy when dealing with sensitive claims and drawing attention to staff on specific insurance rules. Incumbent ensures cases of potential fraud, excessive billing or other anomalies are dealt with under supervision and in absolute confidentiality.

WHO offers staff in the General Services category an attractive remuneration package, which for the above position includes an annual net base salary starting at EGP 141,712 (subject to mandatory deductions for pension contributions and health insurance, as applicable) and 30 days of annual leave
