Supply Division in Copenhagen is looking for an experienced Supply Chain Officer (Monitoring / Planning) at the P-2 level.

The Monitoring, Strategic Data and Evidence Unit focuses on the generation, synthesis, use and sharing of evidence and data as key contributions to supply chain optimization, programme design, and demonstrating results and achievements. It leads on performance monitoring, demand forecasting and supply planning, end-to-end supply chain monitoring, as well as research and evaluation to use evidence to inform improvements to processes. It leverages UNICEF's experience on supply chain monitoring and performance measuring to support countries improve visibility and performance of their supply chain through increased use of data.

MSDEU is currently recruiting three P2 positions to support our work.

How can you make a difference?

Together, the positions (i) contribute to ensure supply chain business intelligence is developed and available, organizational performance indicators are regularly monitored, and SAP reports as well as Supply Dashboards and other visibility and monitoring tools are available, working optimally and meet the needs of the Supply and Programme functions; (ii) provide input to capacity development initiatives led by Regional and/or Country Offices in the area of strengthening the use of data to manage supply chains; (iii) support the collection and/or generation of relevant data and analysis for supply chain, forecasting and demand planning purposes.

You will be accountable for: 

Position # 102958:

  • Supports the UNICEF Supply Strategy on Monitoring, particularly concerning performance measurements, management results and monitoring of the UNICEF supply chain, by ensuring accurate and cohesive methodologies and calculations, and by actively monitoring key supply chain segments.
  • Contributes to ensure required statutory reports and statistics are provided and data is accurate for the Director's Office, including the Supply Division, the Supply Function and the UN Statistical Annual Reports, via coordination of inputs, validation of information, and consistent and documented working approaches and tools.
  • Ensures the preparation of data, analysis and intelligence to support activities like cost modelling, supply chain segment optimizations, forecast accuracy, demand trends, market analysis, supplier performance, in-country supply distribution, and key country and product analysis.
  • Ensures the general provision of information and analysis based on supply chain data by working with relevant team members and/or generating the information and analysis via available tools and data sources, such as UNICEF's ERP.
  • Develops, analyses, reviews and/or improves tools and models for supply chain data analysis, including tools for data validation and triangulation, the supply chain visibility and monitoring dashboards, the Balanced Performance Scorecard and tools for monitoring, planning, reporting and performance management, in collaboration with relevant business and technical colleagues.
  • Ensures the logic of all tools, models and IT solutions is aligned with UNICEF's goals, processes, regulations and policies by verifying and analyzing results, and proposing and implemented any improvements.
  • Liaises with IT and business colleagues within the supply community to design, correct and/or improve reports for increased user friendliness and for accurate and timely data for external and internal stakeholders in relation to supply inputs to humanitarian and development programmes - both in SAP and on corporate web platforms.
  • Supports with practical input, evidence and qualitative information the conceptualization, design, development and implementation of a suite of models and/or IT solutions to provide visibility on the supplies reaching the point of use, including timeliness and quality of the processes, and overall performance of partners engaged.
  • Ensures the preparation and maintenance of user guides and documentation for the standard supply chain reporting, monitoring, forecasting and demand planning tools, and provides training to users as part of the professionalization efforts for the supply community
  • Participates in the conceptualization, design, development, analysis, testing and implementation of business process improvements, which can cover different segments of the supply chain, from planning to last-mile distribution, as well as cover different supply inputs, such as goods, services or bundled goods and services.
  • Engages, monitors and channels discussions in the internal corporate Yammer network, especially those related to our area of responsibility, and monitors and contributes to relevant online community platforms and external discussion forums.
  • Provides any other assistance as required by the supervisor.

 

Position # 102957

  • Supports with practical input, evidence and qualitative information the conceptualization, design, development and implementation of a suite of models and/or IT solutions to provide visibility on the supplies reaching the point of use, including timeliness and quality of the processes, and overall performance of partners engaged.
  • Liaises with IT and business colleagues external to SD yet engaged in the conceptualization, development and roll-out of electronic applications or databases relevant to supply chain, by serving as a focal point in meetings and communication, and by actively participating to all processes, including design, user testing and implementation.
  • Serves as a supply chain data focal point in meetings and communications related to Technology for Development, keeps track of projects and progress and communicates internally in the team or SD in a regular basis.
  • Keeps abreast of developments in the field of electronic logistics management information systems used in donor and partner countries and stays updated on relevant systems and developments that may support countries with electronic availability of supply chain data.
  • Provides technical assistance to partner country governments to strengthen the availability, quality and use of data at all levels of the supply chain, including via supporting and guiding technical consultants and service providers with quantitative and qualitative information.
  • Provides support to the implementation of technical assistance and/or capacity development activities by leveraging UNICEF experiences and through helping identify concrete needs, facilitating the dialogue to devise concrete solutions, helping plan activities and following up on implementation with relevant stakeholders.
  • Manages the online platform Visibility for Vaccines (www.vivaplatform.org) by regularly updating UNICEF's supply chain information, by responding to queries and providing support to and re-training as needed existing users, and by communicating on the options provided by the platform in view of onboarding new country users.
  • Provides utilization and functional analysis on the online platform Visibility for Vaccines (www.vivaplatform.org) by collecting relevant data and qualitative information, ensures that communication, learning and promotion materials are kept updated and available to reach out to prospect users, and supports the possible expansion of this platform or similar to other relevant strategic supplies.
  • Serves as supply chain data focal point for technology initiatives, such as the project to identify a new generation of Stock Management Tool, and UNICEF's work towards increasing supply traceability.
  • Assists countries to build capabilities within forecasting and planning by leveraging SD's internal knowledge, including via analyzing relevant information to determine weaknesses and strengths in their planning process and areas and products with significant gaps between forecast and actual need.
  • Supports the awareness on, advocacy for and communication of the work on supply chain Data for Management by developing communication materials and by deriving and/or generating and maintaining updated reportable data to help communicate internally and externally to governments and partners on progress, including country study cases.
  • Participates in the conceptualization, design, development, analysis, testing and implementation of business process improvements, which can cover different segments of the supply chain, from planning to last-mile distribution, as well as cover different supply inputs, such as goods, services or bundled goods and services.
  • Coordinates project activities with SD, other HQ Divisions, and Regional and Country Offices for last-mile conceptualization, project proposal and blue-printing, and remains a focal point through implementation.
  • Engages, monitors and channels discussions in the internal corporate Yammer network, especially those related to our area of responsibility, and monitors and contributes to relevant online community platforms and external discussion forums.
  • Provides any other assistance as required by the supervisor.

 

Position # 102960

  • Participate in the preparation and implementation of comprehensive forecast exercises to secure quality demand plans for a sustained and uninterrupted supply of UNICEF essential and strategic supplies, including the generation and maintenance of relevant historical data bases, and the regular demand updates and follow-up with contract managers.
  • Provide monthly updates of the demand realization gap analysis to the relevant Procurement Centers, including trend analysis to allow contracts managers to react to short and long-term changes in demand.
  • Supports the conceptualization and design of optimized forecasting processes, whether UNICEF exclusive or in collaboration with partners, by actively engaging in meetings, coordinating meeting inputs and outputs, and following up and/or implementing action points.
  • Work closely with relevant stakeholders to identify areas with a need for forecast improvement and follow through with agreed to improvements and actions.

Education

  • A completed 1st University degree (Bachelor's Degree) in business, economics, development, social sciences, statistics, supply chain or relevant field is required.

Work Experience

  • A minimum of 2 years work experience in public and/or private sector with proficiency in use of data processing, business data analysis and intelligence, systems and process analysis, and/or performance monitoring is required, preferably in areas related to the supply chain and preferably with experience working in the field.

Languages

  • Proficiency in English is required. Proficiency in French is an asset.
