myCIFOR System Analyst Consultant

Overview

myCIFOR was established in 2013 with the idea of creating a centralized workspace for CIFOR’s business processes. myCIFOR consists of a series of stand-alone systems, each representing one business process. Since then, myCIFOR has developed into a more comprehensive, well-integrated system.

myCIFOR provides a space, system infrastructure and technical support for all divisions, allowing them to equip other users with information relevant to their business processes. Through myCIFOR, information is shared and integrated with the aim of streamlining all business processes in CIFOR.

The foundations of myCIFOR lie in policies, procedures, guidelines and reports that eventually feed myCIFOR with information.

In 2020, the IS team will be required to support the CIFOR-ICRAF merger process where some changes will need to be carried out.

Duties and responsibilities

The myCIFOR System Analyst Consultant translates the user requirements into technical designs and requirements, leads the development team and testing process, ensures the quality and standard of coding, and checks the performance of the system.
Details of the Consultant’s responsibilities:
  1. Translate business and user requirements into a technical analysis and design;
  2. Follow project scoping and design documents in developing the system;
  3. Lead programmers and quality assurance personnel in ensuring the team produces a high quality, robust, scalable, and reliable myCIFOR system that will streamline business processes in CIFOR;
  4. Whenever a development process is conducted, the System Analyst Consultant is responsible for designing components and providing information to the developer;
  5. Define and coordinate the execution of testing procedures, and develop test cases to serve the overall quality assurance process;
  6. Provide technical requirements and proper documentation from the critical phase;
  7. Participate in all Information System Team sessions on progress updates;
  8. Provide proper documentation during programming activities;
  9. Follow Information System Team procedures and standards in developing the system;
  10. Work closely with other team members to ensure project scopes are fully delivered.

Education, knowledge and experience

• A minimum of a diploma in engineering (computer/telecommunications), computer science/information technology or equivalent;
• At least 1 year of working experience in a related field is required for this position;
• Experience in implementing project management concepts is an advantage;
• At least 1 year of experience developing web-based systems using C# languages;
• At least 1 year of experience developing systems using SQL servers (any version);
• Experience in K2 BlackPearl workflow is an advantage;
• Proficiency with fundamental front-end languages such as HTML, CSS (Bootstrap) and JavaScript (jQuery);
• Experience using REST API is a plus;
• Experience using source code management (TFS/GitHub) is a plus;
• Experience in an agile environment is a plus;
• Good knowledge of English and Bahasa Indonesia.

Terms and Conditions

• This is a full-time consultancy position.
• The period of the consultancy is expected to be from March 2020 until January 2021.
• CIFOR offers competitive remuneration commensurate with skills and experience.
• The duty station will be at CIFOR HQ in Bogor, Indonesia.
