Description of task

Programme and Operations Specialist will work under the direct supervision of the Project manager and Advisor to the Chairman of Steering Committee and will be responsible for overall coordination and implementation of ACSH’s programme and operations objectives, cooperate with counterparts, including government of Kazakhstan, participating countries, international organizations and universities.

The specific tasks Programme and Operations Specialist include the following:

  • In collaboration with ACSH team members and key stakeholders provides

administrative, financial and logistics support services in Almaty in organization of

subject matter capacity building, partnership and networking activities including

seminars, workshops and conferences;

  • Provides high quality support serving as a focal point for ACSH initiatives involving

partner organizations, academia, universities, think-tanks, research institutions

located in Almaty and participating countries with focus on Central Asia countries;

  • Establishes and maintains contacts with relevant UN Agencies, government

institutions, bilateral and multilateral donors, private sector, civil society engaged in

implementation of ACSH activities;

  • Provides support in development of knowledge and advocacy products of the ACSH;
  • Drafts documents, report and speeches for the management of the ACSH;
  • Performs other duties needed to ensure effective implementation of the ACSH

activities.

Qualifications/Requirements Required degree level: Master degree or equivalent Education - Additional Comments:

Master’s degree in business administration, finance, law, public administration/public policy, international relations, social sciences, knowledge management, communications, or related fields.

Required experience: 24 Months Experience remark:
  • At least two years of experience in relevant area;
  • Good writing/editing, communication and advocacy skills;
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a diverse team setting;
  • Excellent team building, diplomatic and inter-personal skills;
  • Ability to ensure timely and quality implementation and delivery of results.
  • Ability to plan and work in a high-pressure work environment under tight deadlines;
  • Advanced computer skills, experience in the usage of computers and office software packages (MS Word, Excel, etc) and knowledge of spreadsheet and database packages.
Language skills:
  • English(Mandatory), Level - Working Knowledge
  • Russian(Mandatory), Level - Fluent
