Description of task
Within the delegated authority and under the supervision of the Governance and Peacebuilding Portfolio Manager/ Deputy Programme Coordinator or his/her designated mandated representative(s), the UN Volunteer will:
- Assist the Strategic Planning Office (OPM) to identify goals and targets in the National Development Strategy (NDS) and links with the indicators included in the global SDG indicator framework;
- Assist the Strategic Planning Office to review and adapt global SDG indicators to Kosovo’s context;
- Support the Strategic Planning Office to strengthen their capacities in integrating SDGs into policy framework;
- Review best practices and country experiences on SDG related issues and adapt them to Kosovo’s context;
- Facilitate the use of statistics as a means for policymakers to make informed decisions in the area of sustainable development.
- Support the mapping of disruptive trends against the SDGs and helping assess their impact on the SDGs in Kosovo;
- Identify best practices of integrated data collection and the use in countries to assist in the development of integrated statistical systems;
- Ensure close cooperation and exchange of information with designated focal point in Sustainable Development Council (Caucus);
- Supporting the development of policy papers, studies, reports, briefing notes, and speeches, as requested by the supervisor;
- Assist in organizing meetings, workshops, seminars and conferences;
- Any other related tasks as may be required or assigned by the supervisor.
- Bachelor’s degree in Public Policy, Social Sciences, Economics, Public Administration, Law and related fields
- At least 3 years of professional work experience in a development setting with national or international organisations, focusing on research and/or policy development/analysis,
- Excellent oral and written skills; excellent drafting, formulation, reporting skills
- Self-motivated, ability to work with minimum supervision ability to q
- Computer skills (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, social media, and others).
- Ability to work inclusively and collaboratively with a range of partners organizations, and authorities at different levels
- Solid overall computer literacy, including proficiency in various MS Office applications (Excel, Word, etc), social media, and others;
- Previous experience as a volunteer at local, national or international levels a distinct advantage
