Purpose and Objectives
The main purpose of the Innovation and Technology for Development Consultant is to support the Oman Country Office’s programmatic goals. The role aims to achieve this by supporting two key programme delivery functions:

- Support office management by facilitating programme outcome requirements, as well as key operational tasks enabling successful programme delivery.

Adminstrative requirements
- The Technology and Innovation Consultancy will be required to report on a daily basis to the Supervisor. The Technology and Innovation Consultancy will be entitled to the same work hours, weekends & UN holiday schedule as UNICEF staff, based on the work schedule agreed with the Supervisor.
- The Technology and Innovation Consultancy will arrange his/her own insurance, such as life, health and other forms of insurance, covering the term of this contract when in Oman, and will provide proof of insurance.
- Any in-country travel related to a work assignment will be arranged for and covered by UNICEF.
- UNICEF will not provide the Technology and Innovation Consultancy with any equipment, unless it is approved by Operation Unit with the completion of the appropriate forms.
qualificationS & Specialized knowledge
- Completed undergraduate or higher university education in a field related to business, IT and/or operations.
- Understanding of ICT, data applications and supplies chain management/ logistics is an asset
- At least 4yrs of relevant work experience
- Reasonable knowledge of Government of Oman laws, policies and programmes addressing children’s rights
- Knowledge of UNICEF’s mandate is considered an asset.
- Excellent, organizational, communication and writing skills.
- Ability to work in a multicultural environment is essential.
- Sound knowledge of Omani culture, traditions and communication protocols.
- Programme experience in Health, Innovation, Human Resources and Logistics is considered an asset.
