Monitoring & Evaluation Advisor (f/m)

Location: Innsbruck/Austria

SOS Children’s Villages International is the umbrella organisation for the global federation of SOS Children’s Villages. As a non-governmental social development organisation we help children without parental care and families in difficult living conditions through services in care, education, health and emergency relief, and we advocate for children’s rights. We work in 136 countries and territories, reaching over one million children, young people, families and caregivers each year.

Mission

Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) is a central area within the Programme & Strategy function in the International Office (IO). The M&E team focuses on three topics that support member associations to better monitor and evaluate their work. One is a programme database that collects, consolidates and manages programme data from 100 member associations. The second is a programme management system that digitalises the tasks of a programme manager. The third is the conceptualisation and implementation of results-based management in member associations. All serve as input to the strategy, cross-functional management steering and communication (internal and external)
In this context, the incumbent will support the achievement of SOS’ strategic priority of locally contextualised programmes through contributing to the global implementation of results-based management (RBM).

Tasks and Responsibilities
  • Support cross-functional alignment with other functions  to ensure a streamlined programme management process with cross-functional support
  • Hold global webinars for RBM practitioners on both good practice sharing and content inputs
  • Coordinate monitoring of implementation in programmes, incl. tracking of workshop dates, outputs, and follow up processes
  • Maintain and update RBM training package and the conceptualisation and development of virtual learning opportunities
  • Prepare quarterly bulletins, manage blog and wiki to keep Member Associations informed
  • Participate as core team member in the development and implementation of the Results-Based Management roll-out project and the ProDIGI project
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s or Master´s degree in Business Administration, Social Work, IT or equivalent
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience
  • Good Knowledge of results-based management methodology and tools
  • Good experience with programme management IT systems (e.g. Amp Impact, NGO online) would be preferred
  • Experience with social media, especially with blogs
  • Strong ability to prioritise and meet deadlines as well as excellent organisational skills
  • Sound knowledge of MS Excel
  • Experience working with different cultures
  • Fluent English language skills
  • A valid Austrian working permit or eligibility to work within the EU
