Description of task
Under the direct supervision of the Communication Specialist, national UN Volunteer will undertake the following tasks:
- Manage and update multimedia databases;
- Prepare media monitoring reports and press clippings on UNDP activities;
- Do research on new media;
- Generate content for social media platforms, and thematic websites;
- Provide support for the team in arranging press conferences, outrach events and social media campaigns;
- Assist the supervisor in drafting reports, updates, briefing documents and communications plans;
- Under the supervison of the Communication Specialist, manage UNDP web-site content and social media channels;
- Maintain and update a library of reference materials, such as reports, communications tools, booklets and photographs, and videos.
- Provide support to partner NGOs in their communications efforts.
- Assist in drafting terms of refernces for designers, videographers, photographers, communications companies etc.
- Perform other duties as required, including unofficial translation, editing and proofreading, as and when necessary
University degree in international relations, political/social sciences, journalism, or related field; advanced degree is desirable
Required experience: 12 Months Experience remark:A minimum of one year of professional experience in the media/public relations/communication, research, translation or related field preferanbly in a development context
Language skills:- English(Mandatory), Level - Fluent
- Ukrainian(Mandatory), Level - Fluent
- A minimum of one year of professional experience in the media/public relations/communication, research, translation or related field preferanbly in a development context;
- University degree in international relations, political/social sciences, journalism, or related field; advanced degree is desirable.
- Experience in writing, translating, editing, drafting;
- Excellent written and oral communication skills;
- Excellent research skills;
- Knowledge of and experience with social media applications, and content management system (CMS);
- Experience in event management will be a strong asset
