Organizational Setting

The main aim of the FAO country offices, which are headed by an FAO Representative, is to assist governments to develop policies, programmes and projects to achieve food security and to reduce hunger and malnutrition, to help develop the agricultural, fisheries and forestry sectors, and to use their environmental and natural resources in a sustainable manner.

Reporting Lines

Under the overall guidance and supervision of the FAO Representative and the direct supervision of Assistant FAOR (Administration).

Technical Focus

The National – Human Resource Assistant will ensure timely recruitment in compliance with organization policy and procedures.

Tasks and responsibilities\:
  • Prepare Annual Recruitment Plan in consultation with programme / project team.
  • Maintain the staff filling and roster of the International and National Consultant.
  • Update the staff presence in the FAO Country Office Information Network (COIN)
  • Assist in timely advertising and filling of Vacancies of the Representation.
  • Assist in processing of recruitment, assignment of local staff, national consultant and international consultant.
  • Raise Travel Authorization (TA) / Travel expenses claim (TEC) for appointment travel and arranging the International Consultant travel.
  • Arrange the orientation programme for newly recruited international / national staff and consultant on related administrative formalities; process and follow up on their accreditations and other related documents.
  • Regularly monitor the staff’s Not to Exceed (NTE) and advice to management for extension.
  • Ensure the proper physical filing of all HR record and information.
  • Attend the meeting of HR working group.
  • Perform other duties as and when advised by the immediate supervisor and FAOR.
CANDIDATES WILL BE ASSESSED AGAINST THE FOLLOWING
Minimum Requirements
  • University degree, Specialized training in administration, Human Resources and/or Relevant
  • Five years of progressive experience in Human Resources and/or administration preferably in UN and/or International Organization;
  • Fluency in English and Myanmar;
  • Myanmar National
